  1. One more addition won't hurt
  2. I think he's saying his FIP is going to be high, but playing in a ballpark like Oakland for half your starts will deflate his ERA and in real life will actually be productive (kinda like Tommy Milone maybe?) then again I could be really wrong lol
  3. YES lol sorry for the typo It probably gave Beane an extra reason to trade him but it can't be the main reason, or even up there in the reasons to trade him It could have had an effect, sure. As I said above, I think it gave Beane another reason to feel good about the trade. And you could be right, but if you are then Beane has a huge ego or a lack of ability to control/discipline his players. I think Beane has earned enough 'stripes' to prevent ownership from forcefully wanting a player with the calibre of Donaldson off the team. Either that or Beane thinks having Butler and Lawrie will bring more production than Donaldson which I personally find unlikely. However if they do go out and trade for Headley and throw Lawrie at 2B it would be cool I guess, but then again those two are really fragile and probably won't bring to the table what Donaldson did. People forget Lawrie's numbers at the plate are subpar for the last two years at a hitter friendly park and now he's moving to Oakland and is playing a large number of games in places like Seattle too. I don't really get the trade tbh but if ego played a part in it then it clarifies a lot
  4. People from time to time mention that Beane has an ego. Now whether his ego makes him retarded enough to move the best 3B in baseball because of a few tweets is another question
  5. You are one dedicated man! And thank you!
  6. My marks are awesome but commuting is a bitch lol. Right now I'm studying for my ECON exam actually! We should meet up sometime or something, but I probably won't be on campus until second semester starts (apart from doing my exams of course lol)
  7. I'll try to be, school and work are bogging me down lol I left because Orientation week starting at my school killed me, I was commuting from Toronto to Guelph at the time by TTC and Go Transit (3 hours one way!), and that was about the same time I started to move as well (my family were looking for an excuse to move to Mitlon) so I would go to Guelph for the entire day and come back at night to pack and stuff it just became so tiring lol That's not true!!
  8. If we can get Lowrie I will shut up and not ask for anything anymore lol
  9. True but I'd still take him to stabilize the rotation, if we manage not to overpay of course. But having a rotation of Shields Dickey Buehrle Stroman Hutch Allows us to have more depth and quality in our rotation. We'd stash Happ (if we don't trade him) and Estrada in the pen while Sanchez hangs about in AAA
  10. That actually sounds cool. It's awesome that you both mutually allow eachother to sleep with other people, to be honest I haven't really heard this before, but the idea sounds really cool
  11. Hey, I was schooled by JFaS but lets be honest who doesn't Besides, I still think we need Shields. Imagine having him in our rotation
  12. And Shields
  13. lol easy there
  14. Well its also called finding ways of being happy together without going through a messy split
  15. So it's an open relationship type of thing? I applaud you from somehow not having do go through a divorce because of this lol
  16. So then fWAR takes care of pitch framing and adjusting the league?
  17. I was looking at the xFIP totals for the Majors across the board http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2014&month=0&season1=2014&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=17,d
  18. I agree, we were the 5th worst team in the Majors when it comes to pitching. We NEED Shields imo
  19. And who do you want to play shortstop instead from our great depth at that position?
  20. Top 100 prospect != MVP calibre player. Just saying
  21. I think fleece is putting it nicely. Lawrie's ceiling, if he could stay healthy, might not be at Donaldson's level anymore and his health is a big if. And I don't know why people are really hyping Barreto that much, yes he has potential, but he's only 18. In two years time he could be a flop, but once again, his chances of being an MVP calibre player are very very slim. We got the best 3B in the game for a constantly injured 3B, a high potential but very young prospect, and essentially two filler arms. Trades like this don't just happen all the time
  22. I just want to say, thank god for AA not trading Lawrie for Pineda
  23. Reyes Yunel Bautista Encarnacion Donaldson Martin fapfapfapfapfap
