    Imagine, we could be trudging down the same path as the Tigers without the budget. Sub in Paul Beeston for Illitch and in a year or two we'll have the same situation. No farm, a bloated payroll, aged team. And when Illitch & Beeston are gone, things will definitely be different and there'll be a dry spell for atleast a half decade for both teams. I know I'm itching for a continued stretch of shittyness.

    I'm just picking your brain here on this and you may have talked about it in the past. All things considered if the Rangers offered up Profar for Bautista with nothing else going either way, would you make that move?

    There's potential. But, you're ignoring his defence which IMO doesn't play anywhere. His plus arm is wasted because he doesn't utilize it properly.

    I was hoping the person who did the study had planned on digging a lot deeper than the 50 (I think) sample size he delved into. Interesting study to say the least.

    If history is predicting the future, Gose has put up a very similar BA throughout the minors at a younger age, a better OBP, and a slightly lower SLG. And if Gose is manning CF and Sierra is gonna scare the s*** out of me playing RF or LF.....I'll take Gose everyday of the week. And seeing that both have shown to be reckless/green base runners Gose wins there, because he can likely outrun most of his mistakes.....Sierra looks like an absolute fool running through stop signs getting gunned by 20-30 feet.

    There was a recent study done on FG that showed the pitcher was more responsible for allowing SB's than the catcher's plus or weak arm.

    The only play on a lead runner would be at 3rd or home and in most if not every case hitting the cutoff man or getting the ball into 2B is the best/safer play.

    I'm not a fan of late bloomers. I don't think that will ever change I'm fairly confident Sierra's lapses in the OF, poor routes & reads on balls and over confidence in his arm will prevent him from being a consistent starting OF anywhere.

    Depends what the ++ is. But if that was the deal, we'd be getting young/young'ish assets. It was frustrating as f*** getting players in their mid-late 30's along with other big names in their late 20's and early 30's last year. We pretty much said here...."take a chink of our farm and we'll take your aging expensive vets who are close to retirement or being done" It was just plain stupid.

    Borderline 1st/2nd tier production from a 1b platoon for around 8m. Not bad, IMO.

    You made the mistake a lot of people make and think a guy will slide a little, but the people you're drafting with are pretty intelligent and you slightly underestimate them and picking a kid like the Fernandez situation.

    I'd rather Alex try and move these guys like Sierra for another similar prospect we may be able to use like an Adam Morgan from Philly. Get a piece back for Sierra that may actually be of use.

    For me its not about getting excited over Hanigan. Its more about not emptying our farm for every star player that each fan can think of, because we absolutely need a star to fill the holes at C, 2B & the rotation.

    You don't even need to tear down that drastically. A trade centred around Profar & Bautista appears on the surface to be a move backwards, but IMO its a move forward without completely stripping the team back down to a bare bones operation. I f***ing hate the we're either all-in, or we're gutting mentality. Those aren't the only two options.
