    He's gotten better at every level, bro. His mastery of the strike zone should result in a .330 - .340 OBP right now. I'd rather pay Morales $9M or whatever it is to sit at home, and $1M to Vlad.

I can see a couple of FA years being bought through a strongly back loaded contract (this also gives the Jays financial room during Vlad's peak which may be 20-25 after which his body renders him a slow footed 1B/DH). If Vlad comes up soon my wins prediction goes from 79 to 85. Vlad = +4, dump Morales = +2

    Ah well, at least Pompey is playing baseball. He'd be an ideal 4th OF, speed, switch hitter, good D although the arm is average. Here's hoping he stays healthy and gets a chance to show he's a MLB calibre player.

    Let's hold off on irrational comparisons until Teoscar has at least gone through the league pitchers more than once. MLB is littered with players that started hot and went cold after the pitchers figured out the weaknesses.

    Nah, if the Jays pitching stays healthy they easily surpass 79 wins. If a normal year with a couple of starters out for extended periods, 79 should be about right.

    He likely was playing injured. He also was keyed on by the Bruins and had Chara up his ass almost every shift. And why Marner had a good series, the Bruins did not key on him / let him have space. Another reason why the Leafs signing Tavares (no loss of draft picks required) in the offseason makes sense. Stanley Cup winners tend to have two elite centremen. Hard to defend against both. They have the cap room - no JVR, no Bozie.
