  1. I know it's been only a handful of games at AA but, as a fantasy owner in LoD, I can barely contain my excitement for Paredes. The bat looks absolutely legit.
  2. Pretty sure that was me. I remember being shocked to learn of his whiteness.
  3. Yeah, just look at that haul that Cole Hamels returned!
  4. To get Drury, who's under team control for four more years and still has more upside with the bat that he hasn't yet shown at the MLB level, and a decent prospect in Billy McKinney for three months of JA Happ is a job very well done by Shatkins. To say otherwise is not giving them enough credit. I know that people wanted the high-upside lottery tickets in the lower levels of the minors (Medina, Contreras, Gil, Garcia, etc.), myself included, but we don't even know if the Yankees were willing to make them available. The Yankees know what they have in those guys, they know how successful their pitching development program has been in recent years, and they know that they probably want to hang on to those guys at all costs - not just give them away for control of an asset for three months. Drury and McKinney are a nice return. Honestly, it's one of the more favourable returns we've seen yet this deadline. It may lack upside, but there's at least a relatively high floor here with a decent chance for more if the Jays can coax it out of Drury and McKinney.
  5. I guess he does, I dunno. It was pointed out earlier today by another poster that the Jays were at 39, and I never really bothered to fact-check it.
  6. SRF pitched the second game of the doubleheader tonight, so not called up yet.
  7. This one shows 39. http://m.bluejays.mlb.com/tor/roster/40-man/
  8. "Gurres Gurriel Jr." Okay, whatever you say, Buck. That's totally his name, for sure.
  9. There are 39 on the 40-man right now.
  10. Looks like they've upped their offers, as they've just acquired Assdribble. Kilome to the Mets.
  11. Eduardo Escobar to the Diamondbacks.
  12. I'm not reading this. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/is-pitch-framing-cheating/
  13. Tuivailala to the Mariners for Seth Elledge. Normally, this wouldn't even be worth mentioning, but I have to ask - why. Why!? Good god, Jerry DiPoto is dumb. There's a really good chance that Elledge could've been called up from High-A and performed better than Tuivailala right now. The upside with Elledge is that of a very good reliever, while relievers like Tuivailala are a dime a dozen - he's replacement level. Edit: DiPoto hates prospects.
  14. Luis Santos instantly comes to mind. He should be fired out of a cannon.
  15. This really shouldn't need to be explained in detail, but yes, this.
  16. Yes, what an absolutely despicable strategy!
  17. Apparently, the Nationals may be sellers. Bryce Harper trade, anyone? This could be quite the riveting development.
  18. I always choose my words carefully.
  19. Patrick Sandoval is a pretty nice get for the Angels in the Maldonado deal.
  20. FWIW, Contreras just pitched his last start in full-season A-ball...as an 18-year old. It's obvious that the Yankees are very high on him, and his upside is unquestionable.
  21. Garrett Whitlock, even! Dammit, King.
  22. From FanGraphs: 7. Forrest Wall, CF Drafted: 1st Round, 2014 from Orangewood Christian HS (FL) Age 21 Height 6’0 Weight 176 Bat/Throw L/R Tool Grades (Present/Future) Hit Raw Power Game Power Run Fielding Throw 45/55 45/45 20/30 60/60 40/45 40/40 Wall has been hurt numerous times throughout his career, and the injuries have wreaked havoc on his development and arm strength. Despite his speed, a lack of arm strength could push him to left field instead of center (he’s already had to abandon second base), but Wall is so fast that he could be plus there. His combination of patience, bat control, and nearly average power don’t look terrible in left either. His range of potential outcomes starts with a bench outfield role on the low end and looks something like Brett Gardner on the other. 20. Chad Spanberger, 1B Drafted: 6th Round, 2017 from Arkansas Age 21 Height 6’3 Weight 235 Bat/Throw L/R Tool Grades (Present/Future) Hit Raw Power Game Power Run Fielding Throw 30/45 70/70 40/55 40/40 40/45 50/50 Spanberger went nuts during the SEC tournament with lots of scouts watching and his stock skyrocketed shortly before the draft. He has big raw power and hit 40% of his balls in play over 100 mph last year. He’s a stiff, first-base-only athlete, so he’ll have to hit all the way up the minor-league ladder. He’s off to a slow start in part because he has walked, as of publication time, in less than 2% of his 2018 plate appearances.
