  1. 33 year old with (somewhat) questionable peripherals last year? I guess compared to what the rest of the pitching market is getting it seems low.
  2. I think you're way overvaluing how much an int'l prospect signs for, especially if they have the same numbers in the minors. Like, if both their numbers are garbage, then who cares? They both suck. Brito had a K rate of over 30% in rookie ball. Chances are, he won't ever be anything. Still an understandable move though, if he ever does cut down his K rate he could be a guy. I just won't hold my breath.
  3. Pretty sure this was as good as a prospect package as these "posters" were expecting.
  4. This means nothing, plenty of international prospects have signed for 2+ million (especially in the last couple years) whom have turned out to be absolute dogshit very quickly. Examples: Kevin Maitan Alfredo Rodriguez Luis Almanzar Jairo Beras Jonatan Machado This list could be much longer.
  5. Going strong for a repeat of 2019 worst overall poster I see.
  6. That's ridiculous, you'd think outside links regarding Jays content would be encouraged on the subreddit.
  7. I like this.
  8. Chinese =/= Japanese. Japansee people don't have nearly the Asian presence here that Chinese or even Korean people do. I don't think that a Japanese person gives a single f*** that this county has huge amounts of Chinese and Korean people. To think otherwise is incredibly racist!
  9. Serious question, did you post on the Jays' facebook page with any regularity?
  10. Not too long ago I thought Lux was absolute shite until I saw his numbers this past year. Dayum.
  11. I look at some of the gifs of Bichette's swing and the follow through looks a lot like pre-2018 Mookie Betts IMO.
  12. You're right, but that was in May of 2017.
  13. And being healthy is a skill that Alford apparently doesn't have.
  14. Alford pretty much played the whole season this year. He just flat out sucked. He's probably still top 20, but chances of him being a non zero at this point are pretty low.
  15. How do you properly pronounce your name?
  16. I might hate watching Richard pitch more than I did with R.A. Dickey.
  17. Very well written, it comes across as very accessible to someone whom might not otherwise be analytically inclined. Nicely done!
  18. She'll never say outright that she was abused. She prefers cryptic messages.
  19. Guys get injured all the time, Pannone and SRF are very likely going to get significant playing time during the year anyway. But there will be a huge issue if Pannone and SRF are all that's left during the year. I don't think Shoemaker's going to be blocking anyone, unless he's miraculously healthy all year.
  20. Shoemaker's highly unlikely to eat up many innings next offseason, I would think the Jays try to sign someone with a better track record of staying healthy. Kikuchi notwithstanding. Hellickson or Gio would be ideal. Keuchel is probably out of the Jays' price range though. I can't see Keuchel going for under 75 million.
  21. Yep. Compared to Garcia last year, Shoemaker is cheaper, has a higher upside, and a more recent history of being good. Despite his injury history, even worse (wurst) case scenario, there is minimal risk here.
  22. f*** yes! God damn I didn't know he could be controllable for 2020 as well. Beautiful.
