  1. They got him from the Diamondbacks, not the Orioles.
  2. What else can you say? It's the perfect kind of acquisition the Jays can make at their position in the standings. If he drops his walk rate to around 4 though, Gawd damn.
  3. If I were a GM and Jim Bowden was giving me praise, I'd be very worried about what I've done.
  4. When I was like 14 and saw this, I thought he was the biggest ******* ever. Looking back at this now, I don't see this as a mark against him. It's totally up to Clarke to catch this ball. He didn't and he shouldn't blame anyone but himself.
  5. Watch Quantrill now become the next ace of Cleveland's endless revolving door of aces.
  6. The Padres also have the deepest farm system in baseball by a fairly wide margin and lots of those guys are being blocked by better players. They can afford to lose those guys without blinking twice. I'd agree its a much harder deal to swallow for basically any other team. It probably explains why many of us are so underwhelmed by the initial return for Clevinger
  7. Yeah Clevinger must have lost most of his value at this point. Not to mention he was also a major injury risk even prior to his falling out with the FO
  8. We deserve a win like that after some of the gut wrenching losses earlier this year.
  9. NGL, that's a pretty big and positive change.
  10. Brooklyn's biting the pillow. Raps are going in dry.
  11. Pascal is playing like his 1st half self.
  12. Kikuchi strikes out Matt Beaty, but the ump (incorrectly) called it a dropped foul tip. Next pitch hits an RBI double.
  13. f*** Philadelphia and the Phillies
  14. I was thinking the same thing, why would you pull a favourable matchup? Nvm, Realmuto in the game
  15. Speaking of which, I owe Todd a formal apology.
  16. That was a sloppy win, but at least Norm came through
  17. The Rangers being salty pansies about this is one thing. The Padres' manager also getting upset about this is much more ridiculous. Your goal should be to win first and support your players and he did neither. Preller should've fired him on the spot immediately after that s***.
  18. 2017 Teoscar on steroids right now. Unreal.
  19. I thought Alvarado was just having a bad game, then I looked at his fangraphs page. f***ing yikes, how this guy got high leverage situations is beyond me.
  20. Jays offense: regression to the mean?
  21. Watching good Ryu pitching is nearly as enjoyable to watch when Beuhrle was pitching.
  22. No, the Indians outscored us, 12-8. Still, I was really disappointed, but I knew Cleveland was the better team. The ALCS the year before was heartbreaking. The Jays were so obviously better, but they still f***ing lost.
  23. f***, those are memories I was hoping to repress. The whole pitching staff was our daddy that series.
  24. Too bad it won't help with the height issue
