What else can you say? It's the perfect kind of acquisition the Jays can make at their position in the standings.
If he drops his walk rate to around 4 though, Gawd damn.
When I was like 14 and saw this, I thought he was the biggest ******* ever.
Looking back at this now, I don't see this as a mark against him. It's totally up to Clarke to catch this ball. He didn't and he shouldn't blame anyone but himself.
The Padres also have the deepest farm system in baseball by a fairly wide margin and lots of those guys are being blocked by better players. They can afford to lose those guys without blinking twice. I'd agree its a much harder deal to swallow for basically any other team.
It probably explains why many of us are so underwhelmed by the initial return for Clevinger
Yeah Clevinger must have lost most of his value at this point. Not to mention he was also a major injury risk even prior to his falling out with the FO
The Rangers being salty pansies about this is one thing. The Padres' manager also getting upset about this is much more ridiculous. Your goal should be to win first and support your players and he did neither. Preller should've fired him on the spot immediately after that s***.
I thought Alvarado was just having a bad game, then I looked at his fangraphs page.
f***ing yikes, how this guy got high leverage situations is beyond me.
No, the Indians outscored us, 12-8.
Still, I was really disappointed, but I knew Cleveland was the better team. The ALCS the year before was heartbreaking. The Jays were so obviously better, but they still f***ing lost.
