  1. There is one other possibility here That he really likes it here. That he thinks he's going to be really good again but worries teams want to see more before they jump all over him.. The Jays may have been talking to him about relatively team friendly three or four year extension. But instead of doing that he wants to stay and have a really big seaon next year in a place he's comfortable and build himself up for an even better contract next off season, rather than signing one now that he might regret.
  2. Yeah in Sandlin's case he'd have to accept a minor league assignment presumably. They weren't wiling to tender him a contract and even pay him ~ 2.5M in arbitration. I guess he could re-sign the Jays for even less but that seems unlikely too. He probably leaves and gets a amall 1 year major league contract from someone else with an amount similar or a little less than his expected ARB salary. You see that pretty often.
  3. Yeah Someone will probably give him a 1 year major league deal
  4. So Sandlin got outrighted Maybe has not accepted a minor league assignment after all? We probably lose him I guess
  5. Tigers OTOH should be adding in advance of Skubal's last year.
  6. They're not winning s*** all with him ON the team the next couple years They could be SIGNIFICANTLY better in a few years with the right trade return And yet you're right they just won't do it
  7. So many repeat winners lately It's sure hard to beat Ohtani when he is hitting and pitches
  8. This feels like the one off season in recent memory where buying an expensive shut down closer actually feels worth it
  9. Kirk level contract at most, even though I really like the guy
  10. He'll be so pissed he'll be unapologetically knocking over cameramen all over the place
  11. Plus the great vibes and PR might actually help attract more free agents than usual. And the team is known to be willing to spend.
  12. Yes but he's def worth the gamble for 1 year 16M (4 of which he was getting even if he walked)
  13. Angels hire John Gibbons as bench coach
  14. I distinctly recall your love of Mark Buehrle as well. You do seem to have a type.
  15. My favorite thing with Yesavage was that he played pretty much only against good teams BOS NYY SEA LAD And mostly kicked their asses Want to see him carve up the A's and Twins and Rockies
  16. Tatis Jr contract. Ouch. Salary details by year 2025: $20 million 2026: $20 million 2027: $25 million 2028: $25 million 2029: $36 million 2030: $36 million 2031: $36 million 2032: $36 million 2033: $36 million 2034: $36 million
  17. Yeah he just doesn't seem like a likely target at all
  18. What a year Best record in the AL but hardly any individual award winners George was great. But what a team effort overall.
  19. IDK Fine with keeping Bo and adding another starter and closer I also think Santander bounces back big this year
  20. OMG that's horrible
