  1. Mets select the contract of... Gary Sanchez
  2. Funny tidbit: If you Google "Aaron Hicks", the first question that pops up under Google's "People also ask" is: Why is Hicks still on the Yankees? Hicks 2023: .159/.243/.222 (not often you see a SLG < OBP) wRC+ 33 Bad defense DRS -2 UZR/150 -43.7 Negative 0.6 WAR It's hard to be that bad in the majors and still get regular playing time on a competitive team, but he has been.
  3. Hoping for Vladdy to pinch hit and pop one I see... Not a bad bet for the points return. And Jaysblue knows betting
  4. I should drive down there Cleanest air in the Province atm
  5. Hopefully Vladdy too........
  6. Cortes not as sharp early in the season as last year K rate down BB walk up FIP up
  7. Surprised game isn't earlier Oh well Win it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Festivus miracle
  9. I'll say this again here The fact that it took Moreno to get Varsho The fact that the Yankees and others couldn't make a trade for Reynolds (a player the Yankees could have used desperately) Suggests asking prices were very high
  10. It's also great that big free agents in the 1B/2 class are willing to sign here now. Springer, Ryu, Gausman, Keirmaeier, etc. They'll never likely give a 30 year old FA a Bryce Harper contract (thank God) but it feels like the 90's again where this is an attractive place to be Feels good man. Now we just have to do some winning to help maintain it.
  11. Plus there's no way of knowing if the deal gets done with Kirk as the centrepiece. It might have been Moreno or GTFO.
  12. Yes. The guys who hit best in "clutch" situations are the same ones who hit best all the time. That said, I think all he means is - watching the team go 0-16 with RISP before Jansen finally did his thing is sure frustrating to watch. They were terrible in clutch situations last night.
  13. For a few years there, general managers were really avoiding the ridiculous long-term contracts. The last couple of years though have been a frenzy and they'e handfing them out regularly again. In 2031, the following players will still be on long-term contracts: Plus of course almost certainly Ohtani Will be some ugly years on some of those deals
  14. Picking Gausman and Bassitt over Ray and Stripling is looking pretty excellent if those were the main choices each time
  15. That's 27 straight scoreless innings for Bassitt That's the longest for a Blue Jays pitcher since Clemens in 1998
  16. So Vladdy REALLY wasn't available obviously Multiple times you would have liked him to PH hit otherwise Hope he's not out for long
  17. Cause that Chaim Bloom starting pitching depth
  18. Mlbtr The Red Sox are moving right-hander Nick Pivetta into a multi-inning relief role, manager Alex Cora informed reporters after tonight’s win over the Mariners (relayed by Alex Speier of the Boston Globe). It’ll be his first bullpen work since Boston acquired him from the Phillies during the abbreviated 2020 campaign.
  19. Holy s*** That feels like somwthing the Rays would do to someone else f*** em Let a 2-8 skid ensue
