  1. Yep. Jimenez May or may not pan out. So far in 3 starts he has not been good. Has anyone really said the Romero extension was a bad idea? I mean it sucks now obviously, but I've said a dozen times - any GM in baseball would have HAPPILY given him that contract at that time. But your point is good anyway - you can't change your mind about whether a decision was good or bad after having the benefit of hindsight. It drives me nuts when people do that. GM's don't have crystal balls. Even the best ones get burned sometimes.
  2. Was it Farrell or Girardi? What happened?
  3. For sure we need the depth I just wish Happ was being paid like depth, and that he understood that he IS depth
  4. And instead of TV ads for Fargo and Westjet, you get classic MLB highlights between innings now
  5. Yep FWIW I remember Sportsnet 590 saying they were going to braid cast the game on the radio.
  6. So, yeah. Waiting for someone to get hurt. LOL
  7. Lott: General manager Alex Anthopoulos has said he expects Happ, a starter last season, to rejoin the rotation at some point but that room is full at the moment. Happ has made it clear he does not want to pitch in relief. Because of his major-league service time, he could also refuse a minor-league assignment if the Jays pushed in that direction. http://sports.nationalpost.com/2014/04/13/toronto-blue-jays-add-munenori-kawasaki-and-j-a-happ-place-maicer-izturis-on-dl-and-demote-erik-kratz/
  8. I don't see it listed anywhere. No one in Canada seems to be carrying it.
  9. I don't see any starter in our rotation that deserves to have his spot handed over to JA Happ. I'll be mega pissed if they do it to McGowan. Dickey's been our worst starter so far, but obviously it won't be him.
  10. And the first line tells you all you need to know! - After a second consecutive solid outing in his minor-league rehab, J.A. Happ declared himself ready to return to the Blue Jays. And then: This year, Happ has stated his desire to be part of the rotation, and he expressed that sentiment again. "I haven't prepared to be in the bullpen. I've prepared to be a starter all off-season," Happ said. "The plan was to get right and get healthy. Hopefully things take care of themselves."
  11. He only made two starts in the minors. Good article on Happ: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/j-a-happ-solid-in-rehab-start-for-blue-jays-triple-a-affiliate-1.2606300
  12. Navarro is no all star, but the pitchers seem to really appreciate him, and he makes mostly good at bats. I'll take that over handsome-but-useless JP any day.
  13. Yankees are so used to NOT having speed, they don't know how to handle it now that one guy does, LOL.. (OK, maybe Garner too, call it two)
  14. I hope Girardi benches him a game. Damn I hate that s*** from players
  15. If he does, we HAVE to get a pic of him with one of these on: http://express.milbstore.com/store/Vendor75/300/New_Era_Road_300.jpg
  16. He may well find himself playing for the Round Rock Express once Soto gets back. Maybe that finally shuts him up?
  17. I know, and why the f*** does AA say something like this. He's always so secretive usually, but he promises Happ a rotation spot, promises JPA the opening day start, dumb s*** like that that bites him in the ass. Players like to know they can trust you, and don't want to be dicked around, I get that. But Jesus, don't make decisions and then promises until you know for sure they're the right ones.
  18. Regardless he needs to get rid of AT LEAST one more optionless guy. Rogers Happ Redmond We just can't keep them all, no matter how much AA seems to want to. Jeffress was a start, but at least one more has to go. Either traded, or put through waivers. Right now could you sneak Rogers through maybe? Redmond you certainly couldn't, and I want him on the club anyway. Happ? No idea. The contract hurts in trading him, and we can't option him anyway.
  19. For sure. Because retroactively saying who we should and shouldn't have signed with the benefit of hindsight makes a person so smart. And on the other hand, once a player has 3 bad games there's no chance he goes on to have a good season, right? /sarcasm We don't know how this signing will work out. Or Santana's. Or anyone's.
  20. Same here. I really like Redmond. If someone gets hurt and a rotation spot opens up, right now he's the guy I have the most confidence in stepping in. Several teams would probably like to have him for their 5th starter. But agree it's Happ and Rogers I'd like to see gone.
  21. No I wasn't. My list of players included both good and mediocre ones. A package could have been made to get a league average 2B or a serviceable RH hitting 4th OF/DH platoon type.
  22. So you're saying... The playoffs will be easy to make?
  23. JP not making many Texas fans happy on Twitter
