  1. Agree that Melky probably won't keep this pace up all year But if you feel this team is several years away from contending, then keeping Rasmus makes no sense
  2. Gose in Buffalo last year: 22 successful stolen bases, 13 caught stealing That's a TERRIBLE success rate for a guy who's that fast
  3. I know But he was getting caught stealing a lot in AAA last year
  4. Rasmus + Santos + a prospect would have netted you something really good this off season if you'd been willing to do it. Too late now. And we didn't know how good Melky was going to be.
  5. It's the defense The speed is awesome too, but when we last saw him in the bigs he was still a poor base stealer despite it
  6. They thought he needed steady playing time I suspect They should be able to get him lots of playing now though. No Rajai Davis. Melky out a bit. Rasmus struggling.
  7. Is Lawrie going to miss more time??
  8. I don't care right now. I stopped reading after seeing "Sierra DFA" and started dancing
  9. Hopefully this source is correct
  10. Geovany Soto Soto went down to injury just after Profar. His problem was a torn meniscus. He's also been slow to recover as it's an injury that hampers a catcher. Dave Sessions updates his status: "Catcher Geovany Soto (torn meniscus, right knee) is still in a brace for another week or two, but remains on schedule to return in June, Levine said." The Rangers are desperate for Soto to return. The catching position has been a complete disaster. J.P. Arencibia struggled at the plate, putting up a woeful .094 (3-for-32) average. He lost the job to Robinson Chirinos, who has been better at the plate but still not great, hitting .232 with a pair of home runs & seven RBI. They won't rush Soto back but they will be quietly celebrating once he's ready. Last season, Soto hit .440 in the month of September & the Rangers are hoping he can return to All-Star form at the plate.
