  1. The Pendelton is mightier than the Hurl...or something like that. Hope he doesn't break the biggest points.
  2. Yeah I think this the first time I've ever taken expensive pitchers and I got lucky to pull 3 HR's out of my hitters. It is Kluber and Kershaw remaining.
  3. I agreed and have stuck with my promise to stay out of the Wam-Spank relationship. Please take it up with the Mod who was involved.
  4. My resignation letter is on it's way to Admin as we speak. As my last act of moderation I will be staying true to my word and banning G-Bill. I only hope his new account is more entertaining and less complaining cause I really like the guy.
  5. this makes sense to me...but they have continually said that teams have been calling. So maybe you get a younger version of Goins who you think can develop a hit tool The returns that top relievers are getting is more valuable than their value to the teams IMO. Plus the volatility in relievers is unreal. An example would be Broxton who was great as a 21 year old and for the next 4 years. He was only average after that (can't remember if it was injury related but I assume it was)...of course K-Rod is another guy that closed very young and he kept going for quite a few years.
  6. Has it ever been announced what Cinci got for their TV deal this year? I know it was 15 years but an amount was never disclosed at the time. 2021 (the MLB deal) will be an interesting deal. I don't see it increasing in value.
  7. It was very specifically Mike Hampton, who threw 16 shutout innings in the NLCS. Best part of it is that when Hampton walked and signed with the Rockies, the Mets got a compensatory pick...David Wright. While the Madoff part of the deal famously flopped...the actual end result was pretty good for the Mets
  8. I would say "for Toronto it's all about perception of what the team will be" 2013 sold as many season tickets as 2015 did. If there is no direction for the future, the attendance will fall next year. Last place this year with moves that the fans see as positive (something likely not to happen from this front office as fans usually love the worst of the free agent signings) and the fans buy in the off season. As for trading Donaldson I don't see that now is the time unless you are blown away and I'm not sure what team would do that. If the Jays are still struggling at the deadline, I see this as the priority of trades. 1. Estrada (should return a Young pitcher...if the Rangers aren't selling should be one of the most interesting rentals available) 2. Goins (should have been a National already...we will take nothing, something, anything. This is just a present for me at this point. 3. Osuna (not a priority but could provide the most return, I don't think he's essential to next year success) 4. Bautista (he wasn't appealing to many in the off-season so how does the current version draw enough in trade to make it worth while to trade him...and how the f*** does a career 130 wRC+ vs. LHP have a 42 wRC+ through 83 PA's this year). Again I don't think the return is there.
  9. Reminder to last year's low point. I'm sure I could bump 5 to 10 more days in 2015. When a not terrible team is terrible ball, it usually turns around.
  10. I think everyone is over-reacting It's not a pretty team right now but there are still 81 games and there are only 3 teams in the AL which are for sure better. If the market was as it should be and Estrada returned you much more than it will at the deadline, than I'd say go ahead and deal him. But the market has never worked that way in the MLB so making any decision now would be a mistake. Even if the Jays get up to the second wildcard spot, I don't mind them listening on Marco and/or Liriano...if it gets them a young MLB ready pitcher. I am against a "blow it up" and trade JD move though.
  11. I had 5200 left with 1 player left to pick...I chose Harper over Betts and Betts outscored my entire team. Also I never take Jays and got three today...for a combined total of Smoak
  12. if that was the case than I shouldn't have went permaban. But that's the beauty of the board, he can sign up under a new name and start over. Hopefully he comes back and isn't disruptive.
  13. I don't do a lot of GDT's but he seemed like a sane poster. Oh well.
  14. No need...I got it covered for him.
  15. Right now he has velocity (so do several 16 year old 2019 draft class high school spects) and a "mature approach". I'm sure he has a lot of improvements to make. My only question about the concerns is that body isn't the only thing that increases velocity and effectiveness.
  16. $1.4M isn't even that low. He's still among the 10 highest bonuses for 16 year old pitchers ever (I think he'll still be 8th all time), The list of pitchers higher paid is not pretty (even Anderson Espinoza is ready to head to the bust pile).
  17. Probably the only time you will ever see a 16 year with such similar "now" and "future" grades.
  18. Crafty Farrell vs. Shifty Gibbons
  19. that is why he is the Irrational Confidence Guy
  20. instead of an award of excellence at the end of Pillar's career they should put a big nose indent in the wall
  21. *******s at the game with the AD...HD cheer
  22. I really thought Donaldson might clothesline Mancini there.
