  1. If you download the NextDef plug-in, you can pause live games. They also don't show the scores in the Media Centre, so you can watch games after they finish without worrying about spoilers. It would, but you don't even need one lol
  2. I've had MLB.TV for the past two years and haven't dealt with any blackout issues despite being located in Southern Ontario. Would recommend it 100%! Not only will you not need cable, it provides a maximal amount of selection (every game) and convenience (any device).
  3. I dropped Worley to pick up Carlos Frias lol
  4. lol I'd probably vote (if we do use a voting process) for whoever presents the greatest challenge. DDL should be the brightest and best of this board.
  5. Jonn and RealAccountant should be considered. They're knowledgeable posters and I hear they're looking to get into a league.
  6. That's a better roster than I thought... Silvergun is true to himself in not bragging about it lol. Many great players and no holes.
  7. TJ House is the truth. He's basically the same pitcher as Dallas Keuchel, by both results and pitch usages/qualities. Just needs a chance to prove himself.
  8. C Brian McCann 1B Anthony Rizzo 2B Dustin Pedroia 3B Adrian Beltre SS Jed Lowrie CF Andrew McCutchen OF Matt Kemp OF Hunter Pence UTIL Prince Fielder BE Cruisin' Chris SP Carlos Carrasco SP David Price SP James Shields SP Rick Porcello SP John Lackey SP TJ House SP Matt Cain P Matt Barnes CL Glen Perkins CL Fernando Rodney
  9. MLBTR and I are the only ones with Santos-Dodgers. An amazing signing for Los Angeles. A potential ace reliever on just a minor-league deal? Wow. Rays should have picked Santos over Frieri for their bargain bin reliever signing. Many entrants have Kuroda-Japan. sAAviour retains his lead.
  10. Walker has 68.9 fWAR though, which clears any reasonable standard. And the road numbers weren't bad by any means. It's a 126 wRC+. He's a Hall of Famer.
  11. Thank you. This is both honest and informative.
  12. Baseball Twitter fans are honestly the most naive demographic there is. Can a mod change the title? It's dishonest. smh
  13. Probably because it's not a story. There is nothing here. Stop supporting clickbait hacks.
  14. That would make an excellent middle infielder. I'll go .245/.290/.415
  15. It's decent. Alvarez isn't a great option at first base but Walker and Harrison are nice. Kang is probably a below-average defender so he'll need to hit.
  16. Per Jon Heyman! Give him credit. I wonder what the $$ is.
  17. I did. I don't know why I keep doing the pirate thing, it's unintentional. Let's make some trades.
  18. It really grinds me gears. This offseason alone there have been plenty of 'reports' from fraudsters with <100 followers on Twitter that get plastered all over this board and the rest of Twitter. It's like people actively seek out rumours that they like and then root for them to be true by re-posting them. Like, if you make everyone aware of a rumour it may actually happen. But deep down they don't actually expect it to happen, so when it doesn't, they don't blame the source or themselves. They just move on to the next rumour.
  19. It doesn't have to be taken at all, no matter the seasoning. Just straight out dismiss it and don't give the guy the attention he craves.
  20. Literally anyone with access to the internet can make up a rumour like that. Who cares.
  21. I'm in general in favour of teams trying improve no matter their standing (I like the Twins and White Sox moves). The problem is that the Padres aren't really improving. The Dodgers are primed to go on a pretty lengthy run atop the NL West.
  22. What's nice to see about it? You either improve your team or you don't. I don't understand the Upton move at all. He has one year left on his deal and they're at the bottom of the win curve.
  23. Teams are always quiet about bidding on posted players; the secret bid process means you don't want other teams to know how interested you are. I doubt we'll know much about Kang until some team wins the bidding. The Toritani thing should just happen already. He's not an elite free agent who can benefit from dragging out the process.
  24. Plenty of hitters are late bloomers though. The recent Phillies playoff runs were build in part on Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Shane Victorino and Jayson Werth, who had their first full ML seasons at ages 26, 26, 25 and 28, respectively. There's nothing wrong with not being established at 25. Souza's minor league stats are ridiculous and the projections (like Steamer) support him being an average regular or better.
  25. The Rays receive a lot of talent in this deal. I don't think you can count their side out. Souza might be a productive big leaguer right away, Burch Smith has a big arm and Rene Rivera is at least comparable to Hanigan. Myers isn't the generational hitter people thought he'd be. It's probably a fair deal overall. Many people thought that Souza was an underrated asset but the Nationals are receiving a chunk of value for him. Seems like a 2016 call-up to me if stuff goes to plan. He should be in AA by the end of next year; crushed A-ball in 2014.
