  1. How does Sportsnet decide who to write about? lol
  2. I may be willing to trade actual assets though, Navarro doesn't need to be involved. Arizona really does have a pitching surplus and would want prospects. There could be a fit.
  3. Computer Science and Business Double Degree is a great program. You'll have two chances to make a football team too.
  4. It's used often on baseball twitter. A favourite of Jonn's too.
  5. Yep. I wonder if we could throw in some extra value (a C prospect or two) to get one of Arizona's arms.
  6. The Cardinals won a World Series without Adam Wainwright. We have to stay positive.
  7. And he hasn't tweeted in 19 hours. Unlike Stro.
  8. The new suspension rules are 80 games for first failed test. That would not be good.
  9. The results of EE's MRI just broke this morning though. We already have the updated news on him. A suspension makes more sense. I would assume that reporters break suspension news more than they break injury news.
  10. You could imagine a closer believing he could show up near game-time though. And Buehrle used the word 'play' in his question... maybe responding with 'play hard' was natural even if the player was a pitcher. Idk.
  11. Casey Janssen is a dark horse IMO. There are rumblings about him. Buehrle supposedly manages the pitchers too. Bautista leads the hitters and would have addressed Colby.
  12. Matt West: "huge arm speed has hit 100 mph... plus plus fastball, average slider." fap fap fap
  13. He's the lead prospect writer for Fangraphs. You've probably read a dozen of his articles without realizing it. Pumps out a lot of good content.
  14. Norris is not in BBDL's database because he appeared in the majors but didn't record enough appearances as a starter or a reliever to qualify for either. Jimmy Nelson had the same thing last year and Ace scooped him up for free once he gained eligibility. But this thread isn't about BBDL.
  15. He's back, folks!
  16. There's other stuff that goes into Lance Lynn's value though.
  17. lol that correlates less with present and future success though. Would you consider Lackey's performance to be fantastic if he had a good xFIP? Or does the presence of HR/FB correction preclude the stat from being used in performance evaluation?
  18. Anyway... Dickey would be an interesting return. I don't know how Min will respond.
  19. It's a matter of what you're measuring. A pitcher who pitches as Lackey did with the Cardinals will generally be very successful. He did give up runs and dingers though. If you're measuring that (via ERA/FIP), he was sub-fantastic.
  20. You should! Pitchers usually try to throw a strike on the first pitch so it's a good indicator of overall control. Pitch F/X era seasons with >90 innings (.44 R^2): http://i.imgur.com/rJaxILK.png And obviously SwStr% is a good indicator of strikeout ability.
