He's a pretty generic projectable high school right-hander from last year's draft who is probably equivalent to a mid-round pick. I wonder what Boxy's plan is for our upcoming draft. Has a full farm now.

I can understand how people are turned off by Statcast after watching the MLB Network videos. The broadcasters present numbers that are meaningless without context (and none is provided) and act really excited, saying that knowing that George Springer can run 21.2 mph at 96% efficiency will revolutionize the fan experience. It won't and the numbers on their own are trivial clutter. I would have commented similarly if I didn't know the value Statcast has after contextualizing the outputs by aggregation. It will help us understand the game's mechanics more comprehensively. MLB Network doesn't explain that though and neither does any other source the casual fan is locked into.

No, thanks. I had extra moves so went through the wire for injured guys and should of checked. I don't know what to do with Erasmo. His PD stats are still decent but the Rays may not give him another shot. I could use his roster spot for a reliever. Owings doesn't really look like a keeper. I may let him go soon and use Lowrie next year at SS.

They probably will, good point. I still don't think it's necessarily worth it though. The free agent market will be thick and they may be better off signing a different FA instead.

Not really though. He's a 1-1.5 win pitcher at this point, which puts picking the option up in doubt.
