  1. 1.) Duquette 2.) Ryan 3.) Williams imo
  2. Wow, I certainly see the similarity between the Cubs and Oilers beyond "prospects." Good one. I liked the part where you compared teams from completely different sports.
  3. I haven't really liked the teams he's overseen. Duquette is a lot better imo.
  4. Duquette, Ryan and Williams. 33% chance of not f***ing up.
  5. ^^That means nothing. Honoring a contract means abiding by the terms, and if the terms give him an out ... yeah. Things said in the media rarely mean anything, good or bad.
  6. I can't imagine Rogers would let Duquette get rid of AA, at least now, after the hype he's generated. And if - IF - we make the playoffs next year, it'll be kinda hard to justify. Interesting.
  7. "Can't find their own talent." uhhhhhh
  8. Kept his teams competitive, made some nice deals. Had some trouble resigning players with the Red Sox, which makes me a little nervous w/ Bau and Edwin's contracts coming up, but that was a long time ago and he did resign Adam Jones. He's certainly better than Kenny Williams. I dunno, I think a Duquette/AA combo would work well.
  9. Please not Ken Williams.
  10. At least he'll be replaced by Dubas shortly, lol. Yes.
  11. A little outdated lol. Shannahan = Epstein and Nonis = Hoyer, now, I suppose. Kinda.
  12. ..Yowch, he really does not have a business background, lol. What are the pros/cons of those guys?
  13. AA has a business background, does he not?
  14. Lol, like Harold in Suits. That would make sense.
  15. Wonder if they promote AA to fill the position then put Tinnish in at GM. I probably wouldn't do that, but wonder if they would.
  16. Replacing Beeston is honestly probably more important than getting Josh Donaldson or Russell Martin. A good front office can provide a competitive team for years. This is so exciting.
  17. Hopefully this means there'll be a chocolate-based promotion or something.
  18. OH MY LORD YES Dream offseason 2k14
  19. 1. Navarro is even worse than JPA defensively. You are overestimating Navarro's capabilities. 2. Lawrie is CAPABLE of putting up 4+ WAR. Donaldson is LIKELY to put up 4+ WAR. 3. I hate it when people just insult things (in this case, WAR) without actually giving any reasoning behind it. Would love to have an actual discussion on it, but that's not possible with no reasoning. 4. Lind for Saunders is a good deal that people were also hoping for. That's probably adding a win while getting cheaper, and dealing from a position we have covered (Smoak will be good, methinks). 5. Getting better defensively IS good, even at the loss of offense, because a win is a win is a win. Defense = offense = pitching. Good point, but they were discussing the deal + they knew they would have a gaping SS hole with Escobar gone if they didn't get Reyes.
  20. RA9 WAR is the runs allowed version of WAR, so if he gave up runs ... yeah, RA9 WAR would matter, lol.
  21. It indeed does. So is this guy good or something?
  22. Re: Gomes deal, I was pretty pissed about trading Aviles. I liked Gomes as a bench piece and might not have traded him for Rogers in the first place, but throwing in Aviles too, a useful MIF who we'd need if Reyes got injured, was pretty dumn.
