This is exactly what I'm doing, but I'm still having too many carbs. My entire diet is carbs and protein, lol. So I get a s*** ton of protein, which is great, but way too many carbs and fat and such, and a tiny tiny bit too much sugar. Exercising 3x+ a week now though. I think I'm gonna try cutting carbs. I legitimately can't eliminate them lol but I'll try and cut them in half or something.
