I love Cecil in the role he is in, great to have a guy that can come in at any big spot and take on their best hitters. The worst thing about the closer is you leaving him sitting there waiting for the 9th when the biggest point in the game might be in the 7th or 8th

Very true, need more than 1 quality arm at the back of the pen

Exactly, your best reliever should not necessarily be the closer

Everything is clicking for this team right now... They are hitting, pitching, running, playing D

and bautista is playing like crap.. impressive

Might be more effective to do so at the deadline, provided the return gave us more immediate and future value than it subtracted. He'd have an extra 1/2 year on the contract, and a few teams that look desperate for relief help (like the Tigers).

Yep I'd be fine with that... the casuals would go insane though.

Definitely. WHIP and ERA aren't great stats (especially for relievers), but Cecil is at 1.46/0.73 and Miller at 2.77/1.35. Miller is more of a straight LOOGY.

In pure stats I think Miller's been better... but I think (emphasis on think) Cecil's platoon splits are less extreme and he's just plain dirtier. Plus, Squints' TWTW is probably off the charts.

Don't go there, Rockies. Don't start this.

Is being f***ing retarded an NL West trend now?

Jays better plunk someone in the 9th, not like they'll face each other again in the near future.

I'd rather just win the game
