  1. were you watching when they had BJ Ryan? or Roberto Osuna? How about Ken Giles, Casey Jensen, Billy Koch?
  2. like my butt needs to get any tighter. i already have trouble using the washroom....
  3. with the last few days, don't know if a 20 run lead is enough.
  4. good job Barger.... the restaurant in the Dome should start selling "Barger Burgers" : a patty on a bun with not quite everything one it 🤪
  5. but it isn't sustainable. 46 games not counting today. 8 HR in last 30 played. 4 in last 15 games. That is a projection of 52 HR over 162 games for the 15HR/46 games over all and a drop to 43 HR for the 4 HR/15 games. His career high is 27 HR. I don't think he is potential 40+ HR kind of guy. At one time had potential to be a 20/20 player, but he doesn't run any more.
  6. Scheinder is nothing but a Shatkins yes man who does nothing without first checking with them for what THEY want. He wakes up in the morning and has to call them to ask if he can sh@t or eat breakfast.
  7. 15 HR at this time of the season IS NOT having POP in the bat. It is mediocre at best. By this point a REAL power hitter with POP in the bat should be about 28-30 HRs and 80-90 RBIS at the lowest. Even counting missed time, Varsho is NOT a real power hitter in this era of the game. Maybe if this was 1925 and not 2025 you could call his numbers power numbers.
  8. Jays need to step up and keep their urgency up when facing teams with poor records. there is NO way they should be having this kind of trouble with the Twins. Not too many teams doing worse then them. Jays so far are 13-10 in August, likely 13-11 after today. This is what they REALLY are, not the stretch that saw then shoot to the top of the League. Too many mid range average players or injury prone roster members. Too much inconsistency and not any player that can be absolutely trusted to always come through. Sporadic offence and sloppy pitching with poor player decisions by the coaching staff.
  9. Yeah, lets replace a .250 hitter with 18 HR with a 179 hitter with 6 HR coming back from a shoulder injury that has limited him to only 50 games.... that makes perfect sense. If make a move, send Barger down, and call up Loperfido who was hitting 358 and had 29 hits in only 30 games. Santander had 33 hits in his 50 games.
  10. he's an all or nothing type player at this stage. hit for hr or ko. hitting last i saw under .250. 1 HR in last 15 games and 4 in last 30. Means had 14 in the previous 74 games.
  11. any one else get fed up with the over hyping of players and the team that some of the announcers shovel out during the broadcasts? I was listening on the radio and one of the guys claimed that John Schneider claimed that he thought Gimenez was the best 2nd baseman he's ever seen, and the best over all fielder currently in baseball. I guess he never saw Robbie Alomar, Aaron Hill, Franciso Lindor, Xander Bogaerts, Jackie Robinson, or Jose Altuve? Not to mention Matt Chapman, Trevor Story, Bobby Witt JR, Carlos Correa?
  12. He doesn't smile because he is still mourning the loss of his hair. hasn't been the same player since he and Vlad cut their long hair.
  13. Usually starters going into the bullpen in playoffs are the weaker starters who struggle to go late in the games or tend to be extremely streaky and not someone to trust in over high leverage roles. If you have to bring them into a game out of bullpen usually only done when game is all but over or starter is injured and HAS to come out of the game. Rarely brought in on tight games unless it goes extra innings and need multiple innings out of someone. This has been my experience with player baseball and with watching it for over 40 years.
  14. I'd rather they give Clement a day off then Barger. Clement was an 0-5 yest and since that little stretch of hitting 4 HR in a week has struggled a bit. As for France vs Varsho, if Vlad not in, doesn't matter who is hitting clean up
  15. as long as gausman is not as off and can go 6 or 7 inn then good chance. after 12 inn game yest, worn out pen, might have been wise to do a quick call up/send down of someone with options for a game or two. especially if still going to use lauer as a 6th starter and not a long man out of the pen.
