  1. Thanks for taking the time, Tom, great stuff.
  2. What's your go to in defensive metrics, DRS/UZR or OAA?
  3. Sorry the context was who was the big surprise as a personality he was surprised about(among the players), it was Bautista in Baltimore. He loves the man now.
  4. They're trading guys on their last year, nothing else. And the Jays need a pen arm and a rental RHB.
  5. Whit Merrifield just dropped the *I don't know if this guy's a prick* on live tv, lol.
  6. Mattingly has him doing that. I know the metrics aren't telling me why, that's why I'm asking and not 1 person on here has given a definitive answer, and it's obvious, no-one knows. Oh, what's the numerous things?

  8. I know, but there's far too much noise going on, so you're telling me you rather use OAA specifically? ETA: He's been very bad in all 3.
  9. That's why if I feel like diving into it, I've come to just using the 3 as a PR ranking to give me a better idea on the season, at the very least.
  10. He's dead last at the moment, big man.
  11. He's likely been s***, but that's a good question, I've asked many times, no-one has the answer, is it UZR/DRS or OAA??? I mean we all know teams have their own internal analytics, but us plebs are left puzzled at it, all 3 fluctuate from year to year(just look at Vlad), do we merge them all together and come to that conclusion? I know I've been doing that.
  12. There's a table listed in the equation, Olerud? Catcher: +12.5 runs (all are per 162 defensive games) First Base: -12.5 runs Second Base: +2.5 runs Third Base: +2.5 runs Shortstop: +7.5 runs Left Field: -7.5 runs Center Field: +2.5 runs Right Field: -7.5 runs Designated Hitter: -17.5 runs
  13. lol... well put.
  14. Gaaaawwwwwwwwd Jim???
  15. Every position is hard to quantify, but they *ARE* quantified at every position by defensive metrics, speaking of a nuisance, you are definitely one of them. Haha, you stunned stump. I see you hooked a couple dummies along for the ride, have at it fellas and buckle up those chin straps.
  16. Hahaha... he's smarter than the Bill James' and Tom Tango's of the world.
  17. Yeah, it's not perfect but you use it as an approximation, it's pretty simple in that regard, as why mostly everyone uses it as a barometer to their value. connorp's f***ed.
  18. I assume you're talking to connor.
  19. Last month you offered up your non existent knowledge of wRC+, and now it really all makes sense as you don't understand WAR. lol... it's all adjusted meat. Wow.
  20. MLB offered a 2.5 million prize pool for Derby participants. The winner, Vlad Guerrero Jr. received $1 million. Runner-up Randy Arozarena received $750,000. The remainder of the pool was divided among all participants.
