    It always sounds easy so easy as an armchair GM, but options are really limited. What do you do if Matt Joyce doesn't want to play here or someone else offers Desmond a 5 year deal. It will take a combination of free agent signings and trades to accomplish our goals in my opinion. Godammit Grant!!!

    Agreed. No need to overthink it. Sign a Platoon bat to pair with upton in left. Sign a rf ( Desmond/fielder) , sign a dh ( Beltran/morales) or rotate guys through the position between tulo, Martin, travis), sign a rf. We bring back an awesomely consistent starting staff, our 7 8 9 bullpen as well as some other bullpen arms. Cecil and Benoit or replacements could be had. I expect the payroll to be 170m and we'll be at about 120m after Arby. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messed up the quote, meat... yer dumn.

Advice: If he doesn't have a contract by then he isn't eligible to play in the 2016-17 campaign. "It's not something on our minds," Overhardt told the Winnipeg Free Press on Monday. "There's obviously a lot of time between now and then. We're going to continue to keep working in good faith and try helping to facilitate a positive transaction so everyone can benefit." GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has been working hard for some kid of resolution, but there is still no contract and no trade in place for Trouba.
