Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney didn't want to lose Malcolm Subban on waivers.
The Bruins placed Subban on waivers on Monday, and he was claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights earlier today. "I had my fingers crossed that it wasn't gonna happen," said Sweeney. "But that's part of the business, and we wish Malcolm obviously success in the opportunity that he's going to get. But it's a loss for us." Subban, 23, was drafted in the first round, 24th overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He had 2.41 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage in the AHL last season. Oct 3 - 9:34 PM
