    I don't feel good about his body longer term and prefer to seek what type of return he could bring while he still has value. Although he's throwing the ball better recently, the fact that his arm was a wet noodle since returning from the catching hand thumb injury up until several days ago is a red flag for me. Strike while the iron is hot and get more athletic behind the plate while finding offence elsewhere in return.

    It's not a trigger if that's what they were thinking/planning all along. If they project BV as a starting catcher with all this control, then trading Kirk before his value plummets is smart business. Adding Sprock who looks to be a Joe Mauer type just adds to the depth that will be needed. It does appear though that this trade was to good to give up in their eyes as Ross isn't ready to sell yet, not by a long shot.

    Sprock is a catching prospect. Either they convert him to third base or management is looking at possibly trading Kirk in the off season.
