    I think most people were looking at it like a "take the money and run" type of event after the fifth. To allow him back in the game after 95 pitches to boot is one thing, but to sit there and watch him load the bases is one for the ages.

    Professional athletes coming back from paternity leave almost always lose their aggression and focus for a while, especially if it's their first born. John Tavares on the Leafs is a prime example a few years ago.

    My biggest problem with Ross is that he keeps changing the team narrative from slugging to contact and speed. It's obviously good to have a balance in that regard but if you're going to go the Yankees or the Rays route, then stick with one of them. Giminez was three years removed from his only decent offensive season, way too much risk in taking on that contract in hopes he rekindles that one season. Could have found a slick fielding good base running SS for under $5M (maybe even league minimum) at the time and used the money on a corner outfield bat with power, even if it's a platoon bat (preferably LHH as they play more). I'm just spit balling but wasn't Joc Pederson available around that time?

    Yeah, these morons on here would rather have a defensive specialist with a $100M price tag attached than a LHH 780 OPS bat with average defence with tons of control. King Ross can do no wrong and these dweebs got his balls shoved so far deep into their mouths to the point that they'll defend anything he does. I'm probably Ross' biggest critic but even I have enough sense on the flip side to acknowledge when he does something good, like the recent Soriano for Nimmala trade.

    Wish we could re-do the Horowitz for Giminez trade. Only thing you'd have to move him around defensively or DH. The line up would look a lot different with him in it, especially last year. I think there's enough evidence to say that this was a bad trade. If you can trot out the likes of Sanchez and Pinango in LF then Horowitz be looking like a gg.
