  1. As fun as it it to dream about the new prospects we have just brought in remember if we are actually doing well next trade deadline most of these new guys are being flipped for the rentals we need then lol.
  2. Soto is gonna be a Yankee. We’re not gonna sign him. Maybe a tiny chance he is a Met, but most likely a Yankee. He loves playing in NY, he loves the biggest stage. He’s played great there. The Yankees love him and they have the money. He will go through FA just to get his price up but he is not coming here.
  3. I think if we want a chance to sign him to a long term deal either next year or even in FA I donÂ’t think we want him to experience playing for another franchise, especially a decent team in a WS hunt. To me heÂ’s untouchable atm. Ofc no ones untouchable with the right offer but I doubt that offer comes through. I was on this forum calling people idiots that wanted to trade him when he was having a slump to start this year though. Selling low on a 25 year old with an extra year of control and elite metrics that all projected a return to his present numbers was moronic to suggest. Now would be selling more at fair value in terms of how heÂ’s playing but itÂ’s so hard to convince the top stars to come up to Canada to play. Not as much as the past but yes still. Like we obviously werenÂ’t going to get Ohtani, weÂ’re not gonna get Soto when he becomes a FA, we couldnÂ’t get Tatis Jr or Julio Rodriguez etc etc. If you have a home grown star this good who likes it up here already you try to keep him.
  4. I apologize, typing on a phone and it seems to do something weird when I write on here. I think it is mostly with apostropheÂ’s,that it turns into A for some reason. I also tried to edit some other errors, meant to say fastest not fast for instance. But yeah trying to edit on this board on my phone does not go well so I just figured youÂ’d get the gist of what was meant lol
  5. Horwitz should have pinch hit for KK when they had one on and no out with a chance to turn the line up over. Coaching
  6. Third time through the order and a weak Boston BP. Let’s chip way
  7. Some unlucky BABIP for Vladdy there. Schneider and Danny both got under it. Vlad barreled it and hit it hard again. Just bad luck a fielder right there
  8. These interviews in the middle of games are brutal. Do them on Jays extra or something. No one wants to hear RM now
  9. All solo home runs though. It’s clear we can hit Pivetta up and down the lineup so we can come back this game.
  10. f***. We’re lucky these are all solo home runs
  11. Who called that play with your lead off hitter and a man in scoring position. Gheez
  12. Ok KK turn this lineup over with only one out
  13. And Springer gets one in. Let’s go!
  14. Productive at bat for Turner
  15. Good clean inning for Kuch. Let’s hope the stats that said Turner and Springer had good numbers vs Pivetta actually pans into something
  16. ItÂ’s down right ignorant lol. He had a 4.2 fWAR and a 4.8 BWar season. So a 4-5 WAR season depending on the site. How many 6-7 WAR players do people think there are lol. Was ten in both leagues combined that were at six fWAR or higher. Two of those were exactly 6. Four players in both leagues over 7 WAR Of those four players this year with 7 or over WAR, one was Mookie Betts, probably the second best player( after Trout) in the last two decades. Another one was Othani, who before he got injured was already being called a potential GOAT. And another was Acuna Jr lol
  17. It’s alright to be mad at Vlad, he made a very costly error. Also, had a rough year by his standards. But some of these comments are idiotic. Look at the stats, with his bad year this year he was still one of our top 2-3 offensive players. We expect a lot more sure, but people saying that Vlad was the main problem on this team this season are insane. His downgrade this year was an issue but he was far from the “main” problem with only 26 hr, .345 OBP, and .789 OPS. He wasn’t a super star but we had so many other players that were so much worse as well. We shouldn’t give Vlad 10 years 300 million ATM but no one else is goons do that yet either. But his upside is still very large, and he still is the youngest member of the team at 24. I’m not trading a player of his upside at his lowest possible trade value point for peanuts when he’s controllable until 2026. You see what happens next year at the bare minimum. Just downgrade your expectations of him if you want. If you don’t expect him to be our biggest star then you can look at his production of 26 hr, .345 obp etc for 14.5 million as not that bad tbh. He’s not playing like a 35 million dollar a year player but he’s not being paid like a 35 million a year player either. Trade a 24 year old guy with that much upside for peanuts right now? You know how hard it is to actually even get superstar free agents to come up to Toronto? Look we’re all disappointed in Vlad and that horrible pick off esp, but I’m more disappointed in the construction of the whole team by the front office and some of the coaching tbh. So many reasons we lost this game and this series besides that one very costly mistake.
  18. The Vlad talk in this thread is ridiculous tbh. He’s slumping a little. Happens to every player in a season, even Mike Trout. His OPS+ on the season is still 132 even after this slump. League average is 100. Also he just turned 24, he’s a full year younger than Bo. Obviously we haven’t extended him yet cause we do want to see more data etc, and who knows what the contract offer would be, it will depend on his end of the year stats for sure. But should we sit him? Lol come on, he’s in a 10 day funk, you let your second best hitter play out of that. Vlad is still very very good. But yeah he might need a bit of time to pull out of this funk. But he still got a hit today. And he still will draw a lot of walks as teams don’t want to give in to him. Vlad is a star and likely still gonna be a superstar
  19. Called it! Lol Frak, guess not, dang I probably jinxed us. Sorry boys. For frak sake though we could have won that one. But where we score 7 runs and lose that’s a pitching and defensive thing
  20. Why do I feel down 3 runs like we can come back here more then I did in other games down by less lol I feel like we have a solid chance to come back in this game. Also props to Varsho there to get to that elevated fastball. Guy just needs to hit down by 5 runs in the ninth so no pressure lol
  21. Rays scout and develop pitchers better than anyone. But also Rays don’t care about their fan base’s ( or lack of one) want for consistent players they can attach to for a long time. So they would trade anyone anytime to get top prospects and draft picks. So imagine if we just traded Vlad or Bichette now to restock the farm. That’s the sort of moves the Rays will make etc. It works but it’s not fun for fans to have a revolving door of players. They did lock Wander Franco down though. But if they ever have a weak team and see an opportunity in a few years don’t be shocked if they trade him too.
  22. Conforto was also was pretty anti vaccine in the press. Not sure if vaccines are necessary anymore to be a Blue Jay but they might have been still last year. I like Nimmo a lot tbh. Conforto is decent but at 30 coming off a year long injury and he’s not exactly singing for peanuts with Scott Boras as his agent. He wasn’t worth the risk
  23. Nah he’s controllable until 2027. We don’t sell low on a guy controllable for 4 more years after 160 at bats. Even if worst case scenario they had to send him down to the minors like Teo to rework his bat we would. Odds of us doing that is very very low. But just saying if he was hitting .160 in late August say ,and we couldn’t even justify keeping his bat in the line up even for defense, we’d try to fix him for the post season or next year
  24. Mets were always gonna re sign Nimmo. Best we could do was drive up the price on him. Cohen would have matched any reasonable offer and he wanted to stay in NY. But yeah that would have been a great pick up
