  1. Jays shouldve offered more if he was willing to defer that much lmao
  2. So annoying reading these american dick heads write about how happy they are that he chose the dodgers instead of the jays
  3. BNS says Jays were within range. Just go the extra mile and get the f***ing guy. Beating the f*** head Dodgers alone wouldve been worth it.
  4. Rogers shouldve beat the Dodgers offer. Maybe Ohtani wasnt willing defer so much with the Jays. But looking at his deal, if it were a similar set up here, they shouldve gone 750.
  5. Just seems like bad reporting by Morosi. Rosenthal said he heard from a "credible" source that Ohtani was going to TOR. He dug a little deeper and found out it wasnt true. I imagine that info was passed around to other insiders, Morosi and that Dodgers writer too. Morosi gets the tidbit, tweets out a decision is "imminent", probably believing that its the Jays based on his source but isnt 100% sure yet, so he doesnt say the team. The LA writer see's this tweet from Morosi and starts believing the info they recieved is real and decides he'll drop the bomb. Then someone feeds Morosi some false info about the plane heading to Toronto. Morosi himself says CAA did not confirm if Ohtani was on the plane, but he probably thinks they dont want to leak it, so he puts two and two together and drops the bomb that Ohtani was on his way to Toronto. Neither of his scoops were true, he failed to verify either of them and still reported it.
  6. Rosenthal said he had a "credible source yesterday tell me it was Toronto" but checked it (im guessing with Ohtani's camp?) and was told "we do not have a decision". I wonder if its the same source that said Ohtani visited Dunedin. 3:42
  7. 100%. His agent is able to say he got Ohtani the most guaranteed money + his preferred destination. I wouldnt be shocked if the Jays offered a better value deal, less guaranteed money but also less deferred/paid out over a much shorter term.
  8. If Toronto was his preferred choice, they could have made the money work considering the majority of his deal is deferred. It loses a decent amount of value, Jays could have made it up by not deferring as much or at all if they really had to. Honestly I think his agent just put on a masterclass.
  9. I assume they have enough for one 20+ mill guy and then have to spread the rest around. Will be interesting to see who they go after.
  10. Lol dude, the money was only there for Ohtani. It was a business decision to offer him 600 or whatever.
  11. With all the rumoured deferrals, I wouldve given him that lol Not my money!
  12. So funny Shi wrote a piece s***ing on fans for believing gossip and there he was at the airport waiting for Ohtani LOL
  13. My only theory is maybe they wait until its later in the morning in Japan to make the decision public.
  14. I guess theres a chance the Dodgers were informed they're out and have leaked it.
  15. Thay mocbomb guy has to be pulling some stunt. Scrolling thru his TL he even called the Jon Rahm news wtf.
