  4. Dont forget we're probably playing the 2019 WS champions
  5. Jeezus what a weird swing
  6. Bo just realized now he ought to be wearing a shinguard??!! Nice piece of hitting though
  7. How is that dumb?? Do you not understand that different people have different tastes?? I happen to not think much of NFL/CFL either. I'm a huge soccer fan (especially European soccer), but I realize that sport isnt for everyone either
  8. Pitch looked inside on Bigs
  9. These walks are gonna catch up with Miley
  10. Are the Jays being sponsored by TD?? I can't really tell
  11. That 3rd strike slider was nasty!
  12. Not really shocking. You'd be surprised how many athletes are on coke, crack, meth, painpills, steroids.... and god knows what else!
  13. Jon Morosi@jonmorosi
  14. I dont know if this is true, but I read somewhere you cant grow grass in the dome because the design doesnt allow for enough sunlight
  15. I've heard lots of people whine about it. And even if some are casuals, they are still fans who buy tickets. I'm iffy on the whole thing, I still somewhat like the dome but I wouldnt mind if it was replaced with something better Sure, but 8,000 less seats is still a lot of money, even for Rogers. I dont know what exactly the average BJ ticket costs, but lets assume its around $30. 8,000 X $30 X 81 games = about $20 million annually. You can sign a decent SP for that
  16. Do the math, thats a lot of revenue lost on poor attendance. Now add less seats, plus what if the rebuild doesnt go well and Jays suck. Even more revenue lost on ticket sales
  17. I read that wrong. So yeah 5 to 8K would probably do it. Thats quite a bit of revenue lost though, which means they have to make it up by raising ticket prices again, which not all people might wanna pay if the Jays happen to suck that year. And then there's the biggest beef that people have, they want grass and they wanna see more sky and less cement. I have no idea how they would that unless they tear down large parts of the stadium, which is gonna be expensive, which means they have to raise ticket prices even more to cover the costs (unless sponsors or the City pitches in)
  18. I think it would take more than 3,000 seats
  19. I agree with this, but that means spacing the seats out which would mean less capacity, which means less $$$ in revenue, unless they wanna raise tickets prices by quite a bit It would be very difficult in their current location, because first you'd have to tear it down (which probably takes a year at least), and then build a new one (which would take another year or two). The only way out of this is a total refurbishment, and thats also not easy to do. People wanna see more open sky, plus natural grass, plus a bunch of other things. I just dont see how they can do all that
  20. Orioles cant wait for the season to end I bet: https://nypost.com/2019/08/29/the-orioles-cant-stop-fighting-each-other/ https://nypost.com/2019/08/07/chris-davis-is-restrained-in-orioles-yankees-dugout-blowup/
  21. And how exactly would you "renovate" the Skydome??
  22. They never shouldve gotten rid of old Exhibition stadium. They couldve played there for a year or 2 until the Skydome was torn down and replaced
  23. How many here think the Jays need a new stadium??
  24. I hit him hard all season
  25. I once had a pitcher hit me not once but twice in 1 game because I kept getting hits off of him. Once was near my head too! So I waited till the last inning, took a missed swing on purpose, let the bat (accidently ) slip out of my hand and aimed right for his kneecaps. Fortunately for him I missed. That might sound harsh but he was clearly aiming for my head. I dont mind getting hit, just aim for the meaty part of my leg please
