My biggest problem with Atkins is he makes dumb ass statements like these that are just not true He said this last July, "We're at the point now where our position player talent is very, very strong, and it would be hard to really upgrade" Think about it. he said that the position player talent is very very strong. Go and look at the outfield, we have one MLB caliber outfielder, and maybe no other MLB outfielder prospects. He made this statement after acquiring Drury and Mckinney. You dont think his valuation might be incorrect. I would say the Redsox can make that statement. The Padres can make that statement. The Whitesox could even make that statement with their prospects Atkins made this f***ing statement. -

Whatever Atkins has been okay as the GM but he has not made a lot of good deals for Prospects. The happ and oh deal comes to mind The fact that he didnt sell on Happ or Donaldson at the right time is also on him. It's the GMs responsibility to make assessments on the teams chances and convince stakeholders of their assessments The drafting has been very good. However overall I dont have any trust in him to get great prospects for Stroman and Giles similar to what Tampa got from Pittsburgh -
