  1. But, but but...Warm weather and Humidity, her der; https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/africa-sees-extremely-rapid-evolution-of-pandemic-un-says-1.4859662
  2. Ill call CDC, Medical Institute tell them they are wrong, did you just like not read anything I posted? Clearly not, it's all explained there........go read, educate. Go read the articles. I am not the one saying the what the mortality rate is, I am just forwarding the info from legit sources....., again, it's all in the articles I posted.. On another note: Update on Covid-19 The new coronavirus has killed more than 8,700 people, which is about 4% of the 214,000 confirmed cases, making for a shocking death rate. This will go down, most likely but it's still a nasty one
  3. The SAME CDC and WHo have the mortality rate as 2.5 % which I already posted LOLOL. m"; The death toll is estimated to have been anywhere from 17 million to 50 million. why are you going with the high number? Or right to spin a narrative. No one knows exactly as the death range is unknown but everyone, CDC, WHO have the death rate listed as 2.5 - 3 %..that's a fact. https://www.wired.com/story/covid-19-is-nothing-like-the-spanish-flu/ "Both newspapers and scientific journals frequently state three facts about the Spanish flu: It infected 500 million people (nearly one-third of the world population at the time); it killed between 50 and 100 million people; and it had a case fatality rate of 2.5 percent" How many more articles will you ignore that state the mortality rate is 2.5-3%? What part of case fatality rate of 2.5% don;t you understand? I have posted about 10 different sources lol. More information for you. https://www.vox.com/2020/3/9/21164957/covid-19-spanish-flu-mortality-rate-death-rate You are literally taking the highest non confirmed, not proven estimate as fact.....most reports state way less than 50 million died, 17-20 million is what newer studies state. But keep ignoring the facts. I science there is a rule, you only deal in factual proven numbers...Recent studies have the total deaths way lower but still , in the millions (17-20) 50 million is not even close to have been proven... I will concede that is is most likely higher than 2.5 though, but I deal in facts, it is not 10% either. 2.5-4% is a good range. Covid sits a 3.4 % currently..... will prob end up lower due to mild cases not being reported. Also you keep ignoring a big factor...it is not 1918, if Covid was spreading in 1918 it would be far deadlier than then in 2020, which is common sense, which maybe you lack? So direct comparisons are dumb to begin with. They are both deadly. The world is far more advanced now than 2020. You keep posting out of date information: https://ourworldindata.org/spanish-flu-largest-influenza-pandemic-in-history QUOTE: The widely cited study by Johnson and Mueller (2002) arrives at a much higher estimate of 50 million global deaths. But the authors suggest that this could be an underestimation and that the true death toll was as high as 100 million.7 The more recent study by Spreeuwenberg et al. (2018) concluded that earlier estimates have been too high. Their own estimate is 17.4 million deaths" Newer estimates have deaths around 17 million.....there is a reason 2.5% is listed all over the place (Which I posed numerous sources) as the mortality rate. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19453486 Mortality rate in Europe for Spanish Flu: Mortality burden of the 1918-1919 influenza pandemic in Europe. Ansart S1, Pelat C, Boelle PY, Carrat F, Flahault A, Valleron AJ. Author information Abstract BACKGROUND: The origin and estimated death toll of the 1918-1919 epidemic are still debated. Europe, one of the candidate sites for pandemic emergence, has detailed pandemic mortality information. OBJECTIVE: To determine the mortality impact of the 1918 pandemic in 14 European countries, accounting for approximately three-quarters of the European population (250 million in 1918). METHODS: We analyzed monthly all-cause civilian mortality rates in the 14 countries, accounting for approximately three-quarters of the European population (250 million in 1918). A periodic regression model was applied to estimate excess mortality from 1906 to 1922. Using the 1906-1917 data as a training set, the method provided a non-epidemic baseline for 1918-1922. Excess mortality was the mortality observed above this baseline. It represents the upper bound of the mortality attributable to the flu pandemic. RESULTS: Our analysis suggests that 2.64 million excess deaths occurred in Europe during the period when Spanish flu was circulating. The method provided space variation of the excess mortality: the highest and lowest cumulative excess/predicted mortality ratios were observed in Italy (+172%) and Finland (+33%). Excess-death curves showed high synchrony in 1918-1919 with peak mortality occurring in all countries during a 2-month window (Oct-Nov 1918). CONCLUSIONS: During the Spanish flu, the excess mortality was 1.1% of the European population. Our study highlights the synchrony of the mortality waves in the different countries, which pleads against a European origin of the pandemic, as was sometimes hypothesized. https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=228841 QUOTE: Mortality Rate May Be Similar for Coronavirus (COVID-19) The death rate of Spanish influenza was vastly greater than the average seasonal flu, Dr. Taubenberger said. The case-fatality rate is estimated to have been greater than 2.5%. This means for every 100 recognized cases, on average more than two and a half people died. By comparison, he says, the fatality rate in subsequent flu pandemics has been less than .1%. Comparisons are hard to determine. Since new information about COVID-19 is calculated by different organizations and governments in different ways, much work remains to determine the disease's true case-fatality rate. But one JAMA study published in February estimates the case-fatality rate at 2.3%, nearly identical to Spanish flu estimates. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/09/health/coronavirus-is-very-different-from-the-spanish-flu-of-1918-heres-how.html QUOTE: "With a case fatality rate of at least 2.5 percent, the 1918 flu was far more deadly than ordinary flu, and it was so infectious that it spread widely, which meant the number of deaths soared." It's hilarious you keep saying I am wrong...I am not the one who came up with these figures, yoo are arguing against the wider medical community...I am just posting sources..... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3291398/ Case-fatality rates were >2.5%, compared to <0.1% in other influenza pandemics This is from the National Library of Medicine. I'll call them and tell them Grant from Bluejays Message board says they have t all wrong...
  4. Spanish FLU mortality rate....2% Covid -19 3.4%... as of a few days ago Covid will come down though as many mild cases are not reported..but point is..Covid is just as deadly, the big diff is..modern medicine, modern coordination, communication, quarantine procedures, progress...,eams it won;t be near as bad overall.
  5. So you cannot refute the WHo and CDC yet still post dumb s***, never change grant. Again, i'll take the world leading experts on this over you.... You have yet to post a single shred of anything to refute the WHO, CDC and other experts. Did you even read any of thr articles I posted? Or can you even comprehend? Again you are the dumbest idiot I have ever talked too...you are saying the WHO, CDC, experts are all wrong and lying...yeah someone is full of it, look in the mirror. You keep posting the same s*** with zero proof to back it up.
  6. Again, CDC, everywere has the Mortality rate as 2.5 -3%,..i'll take their word for it over yours... If it is not well documented, then why does everywhere including the CDC, WHO have the Mortality rate as 2.5-3%. i posted legit sources from the world leading medical experts, you better tell them they wrong bro. YEs the number is not 100% accurate as it was 1918...the same goes for the total number that died..I'll take experts word over you and grant lol. Unless you can post a source that shows CDC, WHO and others all got it wrong? Sure Jan.... Grant and SASK infectious disease experts who think they know more than experts who have studied this all their lives. Never change internet. Also you have to factor in..the world was way different in 1918, the medicine, preparedness, coordinated response were all way worse. Comparing them in two drastically times is silly anyway, if covid was in 1918 it would be a lot worse than today due to modern progress, that is common sense, which. It's like you don't even know what mortality rate means, i suggest a wiki...It means the same with Covd as it did the spanish flu, they don't change how they report mortality rate by disease LMAo...Again please pose some facts that contradict the WHO, CDC, I posted at least 6-7 articles proving my point , you and grant..ZERO.
  7. LOl yep, the word redundant comes to mind. Anyway you guys are looking at this all wrong, the real virus are humans.
  8. LOLOl. I literally said, Twice not once, that it is not as bad, can you read? I am just saying, that the mortality rate is in the same range..Go back to school and learn to read..I even posted numerous articles that say exactly that..... As fir children? No one is even arguing nor what does it matter who it kills? The discussion was literally about mortality rate which is in fact according to every information we have is in the same range as Spanish Flu. Maybe you have Covid and it made you not understand english. Spanish flu killed younger people, Covid is harder on older people...thanks captain obvious.
  9. LOLOLOLOLOLOL..no it literally means 2.5 - 3% who got it died...that's what Mortality rate is. Numerous articles I posted even explain this. Grant trying to change the meaning of a term to fit his f***ed up logic. Maybe you should call the CDC and tell them they have been doing it wrong all these years. I'm fine bro, just fun calling out stupid people as being stupid. You should try it, Trevor bauer approves.
  10. LMAO.....the worlds doctors, medical professionals are all wrong..grant is right,...what a f***ing idiot. no one is trying to whip anyone in a panic...but it's better to know the facts and be prepared the pull a trump and deny them.
  11. Lol...I never said this at all., making up s*** I never said only proves how out of touch you are...and again...medical professionals have said so far evidence is that heat and humidity does not slow it down enough to notice...but there is a lot they don't know. You are the dumbest idiot I have ever talked to online. Congrats. The fatality rate is in the exact same range (thats not the same as saying this will be as bad overall), be a truth denier if you want. Its literally on the WHOS site and updated daily. That does not mean 2.7 percent of the world will die you imbecile. "Both newspapers and scientific journals frequently state three facts about the Spanish flu: It infected 500 million people (nearly one-third of the world population at the time); it killed between 50 and 100 million people; and it had a case fatality rate of 2.5 percent" "An estimated one third of the world's population (or ≈500 million persons) were infected and had clinically apparent illnesses (1,2) during the 1918–1919 influenza pandemic. The disease was exceptionally severe. Case-fatality rates were >2.5%, compared to <0.1% in other influenza pandemics" It's hilarious you see you constantly spew wrong info and claim others are doing it. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/12/1/05-0979_article The big difference is modern medicine and progress this wont be near as bad the Spanish Flu, which i sad already..can you even read? Here is another article: https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/health/2020/03/05/coronavirus-us-cases-symptoms-travel-deaths-prepare/4904568002/ QUOTE: While the Spanish flu's mortality rate was at least 2.5% https://reason.com/2020/03/06/trump-says-the-covid-19-death-rate-will-be-a-fraction-of-1-percent-is-he-right/ QUOTE: "Spanish flu mortality rate: 2.5% largely killed healthy adults between 20 and 40." Here is more: https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=228841 QUOTE: " The death rate of Spanish influenza was vastly greater than the average seasonal flu, Dr. But one JAMA study published in February estimates the case-fatality rate at 2.3%, nearly identical to Spanish flu estimates. https://virus.stanford.edu/uda/ QUOTE;"The influenza virus had a profound virulence, with a mortality rate at 2.5% compared to the previous influenza epidemics, which were less than 0.1%. The death rate for 15 to 34-year-olds of influenza and pneumonia were 20 times higher in 1918 than in previous years (Taubenberger)." 10-20% is laughable and wrong. 2.5-3% is were spanish flu's mortality rate is, right were Covid sites right now...... The CDC has Spanish Flu mortality rate at 2.5%... Italy last year had the #2 ranked Health care system in the world, their mortality rate has skyrocketed to 6%, partly due to hospitals being over run and not enough ventilators, and other factors.. Know the facts and don't panic. Not deny facts and accuse others of fear mongering like an idiot. Will heat and Humidity slow Covid-19? https://www.voanews.com/science-health/coronavirus-outbreak/will-warm-weather-make-covid-19-toast-dont-bet-it-experts-say Don't bet on it..but maybe we should tell the WHO, and governments to listen to grant on the blue jays message board.
  12. There is a very good reason for this. Next you will say the earth is flat.
  13. You are still spreading garbage...again experts who study this for a living have stated we do not know, and that early evidence suggest heat/humidity do not slow the virus enough to matter in the grand scheme, see links I posted before..Why do you keep dumbing down on idiocy? Trump supporter playbook 101. There is not any debate? Did you not even read the articles I posted? LOL Grant thinks he know more the WHO and infectious disease experts. I kind of felt bad for calling you an idiot before..now I don't, you clearly are one. Who said the death rate could be over 10%? I never saw anyone saw that anywhere. Please point it out. Now he has gone further and says "All Viruses" The heat sure slowed down Ebola in Africa.
  14. Well yes, someone not being able to admit their ignorance, then doubling down is the cause of many arguments.
  15. You might be the dumbest poster I have ever seen, and that's saying something..The death rate is in fact on par with the spanish flu, you can see this on the WHO's site that is a statistical fact. It is a whopping 6% in italy right now....Can you even read? Do you think they are shutting down countries for laughs? Also, no one said it will be as bad as the Spanish flu, just that the fatality rate is..that's a fact. A century of Human progress in medicine and other areas means it won;t be as bad as that flu, but this Virus is just as bad, all stats show this. Do you think in 1918 Humans were as well equipped as we are now or are you even dumber than you sound? Hilarious you calling others out for lying and mis-information, still waiting on your warm weather claim with facts.
  16. Got to love it when folks take one stat and twist it to a narrative without looking at the big picture...Covid 19 infected more in China alone then Sars did World wide... If sars had a Death rate of 20% it would still be small compared to Covid because it was not highly transmissable like Covid -19 is...there is more to a virus then just one data point...It's transmission rate is very important.
  17. Another idiotic post...this is 2020..medicine is far better than in 1918 as is the manufacture of medicines, health care, communication......the mortality rate is indeed the same right now, those are facts... It won't kill as many because it's 20 f***ing 20.
  18. You doubled down LMAO./...if you were an American, you would be a Trump Supporter: https://www.cnn.com/?refresh=1 Show one source that proves your point? It has the same morality rate is is very contagious.....that is a fact right now. Being precaution to try and control it is not fear mongering. maybe you are so scared you are trying to cope by making up BS in your head.
  19. You hurt my feelings, big scary internet man. A s*** stain is still better then the s*** you spew. Your reaction only proves i hi a nerve, your posts on this topic are delusional.
  20. People like you are absolute idiots...Yes, all the top medical pros making these extreme measures are wrong and it's just "The Flu". Shutting down countries and costing the economy billiins. The death rate is magnitudes bigger than flu, it is right now matching the last big pandemic, the spanish flu. It is also brand new and just started spreading with zero immunity...the numbers are just the tip of the ice berg right now. Also it is the extreme measures we are taking that has slowed it down. China basically shut down, and in two months it is fading there...you never need to do this for the flu. Were did you see this? I have read the opposite . they don't know at this point, and signs are that heat will not effect it. http://theconversation.com/will-warmer-weather-stop-the-spread-of-coronavirus-133208 https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-australia-summer-warm-weather-2020-3 It is summer in Australia and they are getting hit now and it's growing fast there.... Grant aka the King of mis-information. When did you get your infectious disease diploma?
  21. The chances are 100%.....it is going to happen and very soon. How long depends on how we deal with the virus.
  22. Let's throw up your pic online so we can pick apart your ugliness bro, let's do it.
