    Jays finish with 75-80 wins after a subpar season from Donaldson, Smoak and Morales. The offense is once again bottom 5 in the majors Starting pitching is th strenght with bounce back season from Stroman and Sanchez but the team has too many issues scoring runs Martin, Tulo, Travis, and Grichuk all struggle with injuries. Shapiro is under pressure from fans to bring up Vlad in September but doesn't do it. Bichette drops off the map a bit but Pearson gains huge. Tellez bounes back huge At seasons end all of Alford Hernandez Jansen and Urena are regular contributors.

    This is why Teoscar Hernandez will likely be the one that makes the roster in case of injuries. Right now its probably Granderson-Pillar-Grichuk-Pearce. If Pearce is hurt, then I think Hernandez opens the season with the Jays. This is great asset management. I also think they would like Alford to play everyday, while they would be okay with a limited playing time for Hernandez.

    Combined with the best bullpen and a good starting pitching core. Its tough not to see them winning 95 - 100 games.

    Yanks just landed Neil Walker. I really really wished we were in on this, I know we had a good offseason but Walker is a better bat than Morales, a contributor at multiple positions, on a team that is old and injury prone.

    Its 3/75 so it's not a bad deal at all i thought it would be 5/140 At 94 mph he is an ace At 92 he is medioacre tbh. Still a good pitcher. I never said he suxx. My only point was that if Biagini has the some of the same metrics then he doesn't suck. Horrible contract for Boras and all his big talk.

    Poor Phillies. Just when they were about to be okay again they are going to spend a wad of cash on a pitcher in his late prime.

    Its one bad start in Spring Training. Biagini had a better Xfip last year than Jake Arrieta

    If the Jays ate 100% of Morale's contract, suggest a team that would give Morales a roster spot. The only team I can think of is the Whitesox, and there is absolutely no reason why they would take a roster spot from a young developing player for Morales.

    I'd really like us to see if Neil Walker is still a possibility Morales hasn't look anything special this spring looking at the numbers. He is sunk Cost. If you add Walker you get the possibility of keeping Travis and Donaldson more often in the lineup as DHs.

    Perhaps the true value of a WAR is tied to the position on the field For example, 3B who produce more than 2 WARs are plentiful, but how many Catchers produce 2 WARs. Therefore, a Catcher who produces 2 WAR is much more valuable then a 3B. Just a thought.

    Stroman wont be ready for Opening day, and Biagini is likely part of the starting rotation. I think that is the primary driver for signing Clippard.

    I have been here for a few months, after years on Reddit and Real GM, I can honestly say, this forum is a great place for advanced baseball discussion. People here also try to be efficient with their posts, and discussions are succinct and precise. If there is one complaint I have is that the Forum does not load very well on Mobile.

    We should DFA Morales and sign Neil Walker. Walker is a better hitter than Travis and a 2-3 WAR contributor. We can then use Travis at DH and have him share time at 2nd. This would also mean having a decent asset to trade at the trade deadline. Morales is sunk Cost. If only for a few million more we can get a superior hitter who can contribute above average time in the field we should do it
