    I dont think we can afford having two complete offensive blackholes at 8 and 9. This is a big test for Diaz on whether or not he can hit. If he can recapture some of his 2016 form, we might forget about Tulo really quickly.

    It's gonna be Granderson Donaldson Smoak Martin Morales Travis Grichuk Pillar Diaz Gibby has batted Martin cleanup before and I think the team will try to keep the pressure off of Travis in the early going

    Gift is making the team because they clearly have no confidence in Diaz's defence as SS. You figure Gift will start at SS when Stroman and Sanchez pitch due to their GB%. Where as you go with Diaz for the other 3. Also in close and late games as a defensive sub. If Tulo isn't getting back till the All star break (if at all) Gift is slated for 300 plate appearances this season. Sucks because this team cant afford to carry replacement level bats.

    I take it people here are not fans of Barker.

    I dont know how many people here listen to baseball central, but I am a big fan of Barker and Blair. They did a great opening show yesterday, talking about the offensive issues this team will face. It was a breath of fresh hair listening to Barker criticize the front office on how the offensive issues were not addressed.
