  1. Of course he would if the Jays had no interest in re-signing him, it'd extinguish his arb eligibility, and thus make it far easier for him to get that last large payday.
  2. It's almost always about money. I am sure if we had the budget room to pay him extra, he'd probably play here. But yeah, all money being equal most players will choose their home country to play in.
  3. In my opinion, when you have such a crazy elite offense and your pitching is lacking circumstances should be made by ownership to take advantage of this opportunity and really go for it. Doesn't mean spending $200 million or anything like that , but a decent bump would have been great with regards to accomplishing better moves. With regards to Bautista and Encarnacion, it's hard to imagine them being here past next year, (especially more so if we struggle) when you look at our payroll in 2017.
  4. With our reported $140 million payroll, you should probably prepare yourself for minor league signings and maybe a trade or two when it's all said and done.
  5. Probably just minor league signings if trades don't happen to free up some extra money.
  6. He would have fit in beautifully with our team and i foolishly thought he was a realistic option before the off-season started.
  7. If the reports are true on our payroll being $140 million, i don't think Lowe fits into the budget unless we trade someone like Revere and create more flexibility to make the potential signing work for ownership.
  8. Hard to justify paying Price or any top FA that type of money when the payroll is set at $140M. Too bad Rogers Corporation pockets most of the revenue they make off the Blue Jays. They can obviously do as they please and our current payroll is healthy enough to win with, but they are clearly under archiving when it comes to this market and it's potential.
