  1. You know we laugh but his story has tragic arc. First round pick, to rookie sensation, all-star game selection and then opening day starter. All that and then a steep decline that no one saw coming. I hope he manages to find a roster spot with somebody but it doesn't look good. Sad.
  2. Why are we reopening old wounds? No more WS talk please. Let it go. Time to move on. Shove off. Zip it. Don't dredge up the past. Turn the page. Look forward.
  3. Bichette and Story on the Bosox infield...yikes! What are they thinking?
  4. Their skipper/ GM relationship sounds like it's on the rocks. Can't believe he spoke so openly like that.
  5. I think this is true, but in theory only. We all have to admit that part of the Jays success in 2025 was the team make up or chemistry. Hard to precisely quantify intangibles but there was something there and from all reports Clement was smack dab right in the middle of it. Clement's value to the team versus his salary is remarkabley high so you wouldn't gain much by trading him but you may lose an awful lot. You can't break up the band yet Jim. The Jays have to run it back. If the next iteration of the team fails, well as you said, no untouchables. It's just business after all.
  6. I believe Atkins plan A is to sign Bo, Bregman, Imai and also beef up the pen (but that can take place many ways). This is what the Jays need at a minimum to compete for another AL Championship. Yankees/ Bosox will be better. Resigning Bo won't be enough and Atkins knows it. Get ready for some big moves because Rogers will be stroking checks and raising your cable rates at the same time.
  7. Take all these Jays rumors with a grain of salt. They will likely be talking to everyone. That said, go big or go home with the relief core. Spending big dollars on the bullpen is dumn.
  8. There is a procedure in theory whereby the bones of the leg are severed with a saw and the resulting healing adds about a millemeter to ones height each time. There is hope for ole pigeon toes with enough successful operations.
  9. So Cease will be 30 years old next season. At 30M per annum he is going to be offered at least five years. If the Jays offer him seven years it is worth the risk. Sure seven years is a long time for any arm to implode but with Gausman on the way out we need a top of the rotation anchor. Will Atkins be risk averse or go for it? I think he is riding a wave right now so make the offer Ross!
  10. Jays are now THE organization you want to steal coaches from I guess. Looks like other teams have noticed. Kind of a feather in the cap of the Jays org despite the loss.
  11. Yeah I know. My comment was tongue in cheek hence the emoji. 😜 Try decaf
  12. You were concerned about the Jays turning into the Padres when I said to sign both Tucker and Bo. Now you literally want to import the Padres! 🤪
  13. Based on the regular season I could see why Vogt got the nod. Not a bad choice.
  14. If Bieber is indeed concerned about passing a physical in free agency and hence chose the option it would be quite the kick in the nuts if he is damaged goods in any way.
  15. Well we are talking 2027 at that point a lot could happen before then.
  16. I disagree. I think there is a chance whereby both Bo and Tucker can be signed. Springer is coming off the books after 2026 and perhaps you let Varsho walk after next season. Again, some may think it is tar/feather time to let Varsho go but I would do for an elite batting lineup. Atkins has to be bold here and open up another 5-7 year window of possible championship level teams.
  17. It seems you can commit just about any crime and somehow earn some sort of redemption or forgiveness. Financial crimes however are taken more seriously in the US than any other type of crime. Money is the last sacred thing left. You can't f*** with it.
  18. ...and fix his walk rate then also there is his control issues. Pete Walker would be a busy man.
  19. Why are you guys so enamored with Hesley? The whole league seems to know he tips his pitches? What is the case for him as a Jay?
  20. He has really come into his own this past season. Way more confident than he was when he took over for Bongos. Pay him.
  21. An aging Bassitt (or insert random journeyman 5th starter) and Gausman can end up on the IL early and then we're fcked. Can't take that chance. Have to match the Yankees formidable rotation from day one. Can't afford to wait until the deadline. The Jays have to judiciously use Lauer all season and put the Dodgers model of load management into practice for their starters. Try to lower the total number of ip before the playoffs to maximize peak performance at the optimal time. I think Atkins is going to go hard at a tor starter based on his comments today.
  22. I (we?) can't move on until this thread has run it's course. Please stop.
  23. He belongs in pinstripes. That's where he should end up.
