    Gurriel was an MLB international free agent, so should be eligible. MiLB international free agents would not be.

    He's allowed to drop him early, that just means he dropped Ortiz. He can't pick up Ortiz without dropping the placeholder in the same transaction. No policing required.

    Prince Fielder is in the database and retired before Ortiz, so he could keep him if he wants but not Ortiz because Yahoo is stupid? J.P. Arencibia is in the database and is NA. Javier Lopez is as well.
