  1. How about this comparison This time last year (August 28th) the Jays were 72-56. This yr we have payed two more games and have won them both for a record of 74-56. Doing this comparison a month ago (pre-trade deadline) July 28 2015 Our record was 50-51, compared to 57-45 at the same time this yr. We went 17-11 (.607 wpct) and still squandered a 6 gm lead over last year's team (technically we were still a game back last yr, but we won the next two games cuz why not) Don't think I fully appreciated the insanity of last yr's run until now.
  2. Might not make the playoffs in the first place if you do that though
  3. Why does the lineup look worse than when guys were on the DL and we didn't have Upton?
  4. I like the idea of upgrading RF and moving JB to DH/1B. Just don't think Upton is the guy to do it. Nelson Cruz would be my target, was pissed we didn't try to sign him.
  5. All this depth...Good move for next yr, hard to say it helps us this yr.
  6. Since we are just throwing things out there, what could a Bautista Sanchez package acquire?
  7. "Ace gets call vs. D-backs in today's series finale" -BlueJays.com Was that really necessary?
  8. Sanchez is a huge overlooked trading chip imo. If the plan is to move him to the BP anyways, trading him might be the best option. Remember last yr/early this yr when trading him was a better option than sending him back to the BP? He has more value now and has the best chance of fetching us something out of all our prospects.
  9. No because unlike tennis, pitch-tracker doesn't determine what is a strike or a ball. Many umps consistently call the inside pitch (out of the strike zone according to pitch tracker) and not the outside, low and not high etc. Problem arises when the ump calls a pitch differently from what he's been calling it all game. No way to challenge that.
  10. Guess I wasn't close. Skimmed through the game. Looked like slider changeup, but I guess it was sinker slider, my bad.
  11. Slider changeup isn't a good pitch sequence. Got rocked on the Khris Davis hr with that sequence as well.
  12. Re-watched a bit of last night's game. Basically he replaced the 2sm with the slider? lol A pitch sequence that sums up his outing last night: Pitch 1) Ball - Slider outside Pitch 2) Ball - Changeup in the dirt Pitch 3) Ball - Slider in the dirt Trying to throw the slider for a strike early in the count way too often. It's up to Walker and Martin to step in, AAA won't fix this.
  13. I think the chance of him struggling on a new team initially ala Tulo would be weighing more heavily on his mind
  14. It's not like he's a clubhouse cancer so trading for MLB players would be pointless. If you trade Bautista for prospects you might as well trade Edwin and Donaldson as well. Not saying it's a good or bad option, but it makes little sense to trade JB and then hope to win the world series.
  15. I'd rather save Carrera for the bench. During tight games/playoffs can you imagine having Pompey and Carrera on the bench?? Leadoff hitter gets aboard = Pompey on third 1 out.
  16. You have to wonder how he comes to his decisions at least. Flipping a coin is probably more consistent
  17. replay against bluejays: Guilty unless proven innocent
