  1. SS Ronny Brito and RHP Andrew Sopko are the return, it's official.
  2. Just a couple low level prospects is my guess. Either way it clears the way for Jansen to start more games so i'm happy.
  3. Tulo has no value, hard to believe they could get any prospects of worth at all. Getting rid of him before the season was probably for the best. Eating 38 million sucks either way but at least releasing him frees up a roster spot for another young guy or someone who doesn't mind being a bench piece. Sounded like Tulo had no interest playing here unless he was the full time SS, it wasn't going to happen. Would he have rebuilt any kind of value before the deadline as a bench player? Doubtful. It just wasn't going to work here and that's the truth of it.
  4. Love this signing, the guy can be a solid contributor if he can stay healthy. Love the low cost and the 2nd year of control is a nice bonus. Reading tweets from casual fans about the signing, I think I love those even more. A vast majority of the fan base is clueless about this team or how to build a winner properly lol
  5. 1) Vlad turns into a complete monster and a top 10 player in MLB, cruising to a rookie of the year award. 2) Pillar gets moved out for young controllable assets before his defense becomes even more of a liability in CF. 3) Stroman gets dumped off before the season for a couple of top 100ish prospects. I feel like he's more of a distraction than he's worth, especially with all the young players coming up. 4) The Jays are a bottom 10 team with a nice high draft pick next season. I want them to be fun to watch though(Similar to the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL, yeah i'm on the west coast. Sorry Leafs bros ) 5) Morales either spontaneously combusts or gets hurt all season so I don't need to watch him play way too much. I'm sure there's more but these were what came to mind right away.
  6. I've been a lurker for years, posting rarely. It's nice to have some civil conversation about the team with people who aren't filthy casuals. I'm trying to post more, almost at 100! lol
  7. I'd rather move him now with maximum control left on his deal, either way the Jays would probably be getting young controllable prospects in return and you can never guarantee they work out regardless of how they're ranked. If they can move on 2 top 10 prospects from a stacked system like the Padres I jump at that chance. Like Carlos Danger said, the 2 teams supposedly interested in him now might not be buyers at the deadline and a lot more pitchers could be on the market. Not saying his value is as high as it could be but the way the Jays have been bitten by hanging on to assets too long the past few years I would 100% move him before the season if the return is halfway decent. I don't want to see another Donaldson situation where we sell for basically nothing.
  8. Because Stroman is coming off a down year and the top 5 prospects in the Padres organization are all top 40 guys. Stroman alone isn't worth that. At his best I think Stroman is more like a 2/3 arm, not an ace. If the Jays can get 2 of the Padres top 10 prospects I'd consider it a win, a top 5 guy is a pipe dream though. In my humble opinion at least.
  9. I doubt we get any of their top 5 prospects but it's nice to dream isn't it?
  10. Meh, Jays weren't about to compete in this division for at least another 3-5 years anyways. Let the Yankees trade all their young prospects away, i'm ok with it.
  11. "Bo Bichette hit his 32nd double of the night" - Buck Martinez Go home Buck, you're drunk again.
  12. Good riddance, couldn't stand Loup.
  13. Teoscar just looks disinterested in the OF most of the time. The lack of hustle is brutal.
  14. Solid trade considering the circumstances, A+ in my book.
  15. Giles + according to Rosenthal. C'mon Kyle Tucker lol
  16. Looks like it's just going to be Drury/McKinney, not as good as I hoped for but a decent enough return on a guy we could very well re-sign in the offseason. I'm ok with it.
  17. Is there somewhere I can watch this game from the start? I just tuned in but it's the 8th inning
  18. Not that it's an excuse but injuries have destroyed any chance this team ever had this year. Even fully healthy there's no chance we even compete with the Yanks/Sox/Astros/M's/Indians. Hopefully they go full on in embracing the rebuild at the deadline so I can look forward to a contender in 3-5 years down the road.
  19. Nothing new to see here, Jays always hold onto players long enough for the value to completely evaporate. Brutal start from Happ today.
  20. Why in the actual f*** did they take Garcia out at 73 pitches.... bullpen needs rest and our starters have been terrible. So lets take out the one starter who's having a good game when he's only thrown 73 pitches. Just brutal.
  21. Got a good team this season, can't wait until they blow it up. Bring on the rebuild!
