  1. Have to agree. AA is done. This roster is good enough to make the playoffs.
  2. Well if me make it to the playoffs it was worth it. If we don't it was a horrible deal. The next couple of months will be fun to watch though.
  3. Have to agree. Rockies got rid of a long term contract and got prospects in return. We received an injury prone allstar in a position that we weren't really weak. If it was a injury prone allstar pitcher this would have been a great trade. We only improve now as a team by 1-2 wins at best and we have a long way to go to get a playoff spot.
  4. I think you missed my point. What is the end goal with our roster? Currently our roster isn't good enough to make up for a average manager. If we are keeping Gibbs let's tank and trade some players for prospects. If we think we can win go fire Gibbs and hire someone better. Otherwise this team is a treadmill without a plan.
  5. If Gibbons is an average coach than why retain him unless you plan to tank. The organization has to decide if we are tanking with our roster or getting rid of Gibbons and hiring someone more competent. That's what us fans don't understand. There is no ultimate plan with this roster. It just seems like we are fielding a team with an average manager and hoping to make the playoffs. This has been the case for years now. For some reason some of you are willing to accept this. Maybe this is an owner issue and not prioritizing winning roster/ coach over treadmill. There doesn't seem to be a plan.
  6. Not really with our current roster. No pitching, no hitting, no defense. The roster is horrible, but so is Gibbons.
  7. And he's been a s*** manager every year he's been with the Jays. Are you trying to prove that he's a good manager?
  8. So when did you have a change of heart?
  9. The last post I had here 3-4 months ago I said fire Gibbons and I was torched. I'm not sure why he was rehired and why AA is still here. There is a big support for these guys among the fans to say that it's not either of their faults that this team has been failure since they've both been here. Really the entire Jays organization is trash. We laugh at the leafs and raptors, but in terms of organization from top/down the Jays have it bad and have had it so for years now.
  10. If that's the case I can call you the same, but I like to think I have a little more class when I'm arguing with someone. My point is Gibbons has never shown through his coaching career that he is a good coach. You can say I'm this or that, but argue my point. Tell me why Gibbons deserves to have his job. He has been given the lead coaching position on the jays for 7 seasons now and has shown nothing to prove otherwise. Even his confrontations with players should be a warning about his ability to manage players.
  11. So anyone who opposes your viewpoint doesn't know what you're talking about? I see how this game works. When will you decide that Gibbons should be let go? One more season? two? three?
  12. My only viewpoint is this. He has never demonstrated to have been a good coach and no one except our team really ever wanted him to coach for them. We brought him back because AA thought he might be good coach, but it never panned out. So far he has coached numerous seasons with the Jays with different lineups and has shown not have lead our team to the playoffs. Nothing you have said prove to me that he has any success as a coach. His inability to manage his players through his MLB coaching career should also be a cause for concern.
  13. I'm sorry, but I don't understand your hate towards me. Is this the norm on this forum? If so I guess I made the wrong decision joining.
  14. No trolling. Just my viewpoint. Never understood why people were so high on Gibbons. He's had big arguments with players on every jays team he's coached.
  15. The problem with this team is not the players, but coaching. A career record of 462-472 demonstrates that he isn't a good coach. There have numerous players that have stepped out of the lucker room to show the lack of respect towards him. The team was rolling early this season and fell apart under his control. Fire Gibbons and get a competent coach and you might actually make the playoffs next season.
