  1. Dickey and Buerhle probably end the year at .500 records. Even without making the miami deal, the Jays would likely be in the same win loss record that they have this year at a lot less cost in both money and prospects given up. Cabrera has been the only really valuable addition.
  2. Alvarez in particular is looking great now. He would look great in the Jays rotation right now
  3. The true cost of the AA deals with Miami will not be shown until next year and beyond. Reyes, Buerhle, and Dickey all declining and very expensive. They will be average performers at best going forward but being paid like top players able to take the team to the playoffs. And what's more, their contracts will make it difficult to sign any other decent free agents they need. And in the process he lost a lot of great young minor league talent to get them.
  4. I am not as optimistic next year as some. I see a number of declining expensive and difficult to trade Vets in Reyes, Buerhle and Dickey. The young pitchers are promising buy rest of the team doesn't look playoff capable. I think this year was their best shot and they failed be it injuries or not.
  5. You nailed it. Not too hot and and not too cold was enough to save their jobs
  6. Stroman failed to adjust there they were sitting on his off speed pitches
  7. every hit was on stromans off speed pitches the advance scouts have figured stroman out
  8. now that everyone has anointed stroman as our ace watch him regress
  9. Could the toronto media Hype EE's return any more? He's one player. If he lays an egg tonight fans may be jumping off of buildings
  10. what makes it tougher now is the games are that much more important now. It's one thing to reel off a hot streak early in the season when the games are not as important but another to win them now. Same as a basketball game. Teams can get up 15 or 20 points in the first quarter or half, but it's what happens at the finish line that matters.
  11. It is not going to happen. At best they will be .500 after the last 40 games putting their win total at 83 games or so well out of a wild card spot.
  12. that may have been a hr in rogers center but they are not at rogers center
  13. If the jays get someone on with 2 outs it's guaranteed he won't score
  14. Even EE's presence wouldn't make a difference tonight
  15. Yes it looked promising but yet another fizzled 2 out rally. Why would anyone drive down from Vancouver to watch this team?
