    The Nats have had many bad breaks in the playoffs over the years. I guess they were do for some good fortune (Wild Hader, Zimmerman broken bat blooper, muffed ball by Grisham allowing the go ahead run to score instead of having the chance to get out of it tied).

    I was watching via Game Day and was puzzled about that too. I mean if he allows a base runner to get on (which is usually protocol), fine. But that wasn't the case. He had a manageable pitch count of 99, and the guy had been dominant all day: 8.2 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 8K 's.

    Near the end, a part of me was rooting for the Astros to put up as much runs as possible.

    Maybe because Baez pitched 2IP last game while Madson only pitched 0.1 IP (2 pitches). But then again, he put Jansen (Who also pitched 2 IP last game) in for the 8th. So did he every say that he was going to pitch Jansen for the 8th and the 9th (if Jansen didn't give up the lead), or was he just putting him in the 8th to face the meat of the order? Either way, I just think with the bullpen taxed it made more sense to go with Hill for a little while longer.

    I don't remember it, but it's possible. The medication I'm on really screws with my memory badly at times. Frustrating, but better than being dead though is the way I look at it.
