    homer was the wrong word - they generally talk up all players good or bad. But it just sounds so bad saying Bonifacio gets on base. His OBP% is only higher than Thole's. He's behind Arencibia and *Blanco.

    Actually, Gose hit pretty well this year when he came up. He went down because he was covering for injuries - no other reason.

    It was a decent throw - but not as good as it could have been. JP made a great play to get the ball and then an even better one to make the tag.

    Why do Baseball Reference and Fangraphs have different WAR ratings? Basically, Baseball Reference #'s are 0.4 higher than Fangraphs.

    Izturis is at like a -1.0 WAR (edit I guess he's -0.2 now), Kawasaki at a 0.8 WAR. 2 wins would mean nothing if we're running away from the division, but 2 wins could mean the difference between going home and the wild card, or a division title and no wildcard.

    I loved Johnny Mac.. if only he was faster or could hit better, he'd have been a more regular player.

    Bingo. Normally as competent SS's get older, if they swing a good bat, they'll get moved to 2B because there are better (defensive) options at SS, who are younger and quicker.
