  1. Wow. Zobrist doesn't belong in the Royals. He's a classy, talented player on a no-class team.
  2. Then I guess the ball that dropped between Bautista and Goins should have been an error also. "Royals Baseball" consists of being handed gifts by other teams. Their inbred-hillbilly fans don't seem to understand that simple fact or even care. They even seem oblivious to the fact that everybody except them and Fox dislikes the Royals. OK, maybe hater Yankees fans like them because they're still bitter about losing the AL East and seeing their cross-town rivals, the Mets in the WS.
  3. Why? Revere is the better outfielder and better hitter. The only advantage Pompey has is baserunning and that's too close to call. Revere has been stealing bases for years while Pompey has been a successful stealer for a very small sample size. Wait until the rest of the league figures him out.
  4. While the umps may have won this game for the Royals, it was the injury to Brett Cecil that really cost the Jays this series. Edit: Go Mets.
  5. Fox doesn't need Joe Buck to ruin their rep. It was dirt long before he dragged it even lower.
  6. Again? Always! Guy's not only an amazing LF, he's a better-than-average leadoff batter. Just doing his job.
  7. The mute button helps but it's still annoying, watching he inbred hillbillies singing their little government propaganda song. And I thought the Jay's kindergarten "lets" play ball song was annoying.
  8. Are the Jays the only team whose broadcasters use pitchtracker on every AB? These guys never seem to use it unless the call goes against their precious Royals.
  9. Just 5 games for me - the Devon White triple play game against the Braves in 1992, the Joe Carter touch-em-all game against the Phillies, and the 3 games so far this year. Between Jose's HR off Dyson on Wednesday and Carter's shot off Mitch Williams in 1993, I've eye-witnessed 2 of the 3 greatest home runs in the Jays' franchise history. I only missed the greatest HR of all, Robbie Alomar's blast off of Dennis Eckersley in the 1992 ALCS. Still, 2 out of 3 aint bad.
  10. They keep talking about using Price in game 5. Don't they realize that Friday's game 1 of the ALCS is exactly 5 days away. Obviously Gibbons is trying to get him back in his normal rhythm after messing him up for game 1 of this series.
  11. I guess Gibbons wanted to give Price the W. Pre-contract-negotiation perk? LOL
  12. Exactly. Could have let Dickey get one more out and qualify for the win in Texas though. It's 7-1 ffs and Dickey was dealing. One stinking unearned run?
  13. I guess I'm showing my age but back in the 1950s when I was in school and the postseason consisted only of the WS, all games were day games and all lessons at my school in London Ontario were suspended at game time. Radio coverage of the games was put over the school's public address system and we sat at our desks and listened to the games, with the teacher supplying explanations and answering questions as necessary. I guess baseball was considered a valuable life skill and an important part of a good education in those days. Now they seem more concerned with teaching political "correctness" (an obvious oxymoron). Pity.
  14. While the Jays/Rangers games obviously aren't priority to MLB and its commitment to its advertisers, 12:30 is ridiculous. Even if they don't care about all the Jays' fans in western Canada having to endure a 9:30 AM start, what about all the good ol' boys in the land of freedom and liberty who live in the Lone Star State? Are all Texans presumed to keep farmers' hours and want to watch baseball at 10:30 AM? A 3:30 or 4:00 start time may not be prime time, but at least it doesn't exclude a large part of one team's and most of the other team's viewership. If any game should be started at 12:30 PM, it should be between two teams in the Eastern time zone.
  15. Estrada to the BP? Gawd I hope not. He's been a major part of our rotation. If anything, I think we need to make sure Hutchison gets some work in to keep him ready in case something happens to one of the other starters. Sending him to AAA during the last road trip worked out OK but if Stroman is indeed fully back, perhaps the bullpen would be the best place for Hutchison. He'd be a good long man, especially if Stroman's on a pitch count limit. Need to keep him fresh.
  16. They don't call the ballpark in the Bronx the "Steinbrenner Center" or the park on Yawkey Way the "Henry Center" do they? I refuse to acknowledge some arrogant doofus renaming an internationally known local landmark after himself.
  17. Buck Martinez is the voice of the Blue Jays? I thought Jerry Howarth was. Back in the days when I still used TV, I always turned the sound down and listened to the radio. The small delay on the video was annoying but tolerable. Now that I watch all the away games (and those I don't attend at the Skydome) on the internet, it's not an option. The buffering time is too great. I greatly prefer watching the opposing team's telecast because I like to get an outsider's viewpoint (although the White Sox announcers take homerism to the extreme) and I find Buck and Tabler to be annoying. Unfortunately, most other teams use Pitchtracker only sparingly or not at all, and I want to see every pitch to every batter so I usually end up watching the Jays' telecast despite Buck and Pat. Sigh. I sure wish other teams would use Pitchtracker as often as the Jays do.
  18. Lawrie's favorite sandwiches... hot dogs. LOL
  19. It sure makes the Yankees look ghey.
  20. It should say on your ticket/printout. Probably gate 10.
