I understand the concern, but Dickey was an obvious case of buying a player at their absolute peak value. The deal was and still is awful, but an executive just does't warrant the return of a player as talented and valuable as Stroman.
I would be. The org clearly likes Stroman, and given the history of exchanging mediocre players for executives the chances are slim to zero that Stroman goes.
Thole is awful. Can't hit at all, doesn't really seem to be that much of a defensive wiz except he has experience with the knuckleball, and he throws like a girl. It shouldn't be that hard to find a backup catcher that isn't below replacement.
Saunders has potential to be about the same as Aoki if not a bit better, while we have multiple starters that can replicate if not obliterate (in the case of Norris) Happ's value from last year.
