He's already below replacement on the OF. No reason to think he'd be any better at first. He has power upside but overall he's at best a league average hitter. Smoak beats him in plate discipline and also has some power potential himself.

To be honest, if he does make the team as a reliever it should tell you what they think of him as a starter. I'd trust their opinion over ours on this one, but if they think he would be a capable starter but needed the bullpen help then that's really dumn.

It's the small things, but I've liked the effort Ross has given us in this game. Slowly he's crawling out of his funk, starting to attack the rim a little bit more, good effort on the glass, and his man-to-man has looked decent even though he can't run through screens to save his life.

They seem to have left the first quarter behind. Looking much better.

Either he has exceptional poise and maturity that allowed him to adjust to each new level or he's a douchebag who's really good at baseball. As long as he doesn't get on Swisher/Youkilis/Papelbon level (to the point where seeing his face makes you cringe) then I'm alright with either scenario.

Once again: 1. JJ plays for approximately 5 minutes 2. JV doesn't sniff the 4th quarter after dominating all game long.
