  1. Edwin's DH/below average 1B defense really kills a lot of his value.
  2. The Rays are 7th and 10th in hitting and pitching WAR, respectively. They deserve to be where they're at. Just because the team isn't star loaded doesn't mean they aren't a good team. Just look at the Padres and the White Sox.
  3. Gomez is younger, on a comparable yet cheaper deal, and doesn't rely fully on his offense to gain value. I'd say he's easily as valuable if not more than both Bautista and Edwin.
  4. Depends what the something is. I think the Brew Crew can afford to be quite greedy on this one (at least until the deadline). Gomez is good and on a great contract.
  5. Pls no, he would trade a top 30 bat for Brandon Crawford in a heartbeat.
  6. He's also on an extrememly team-friendly deal, he definitely nets a greater return than that.
  7. Umm, wat Ryan Goins since May 1: .236/.291./.347, wRC+ 75 Source: http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=9807&position=2B/SS&type=&gds=2015-05-01&gde=2015-05-24&season=
  8. FWIW, Pompey probably doesn't net a player of Gomez's caliber. However, it's still not the best thinking that we need a pitcher more than we need a 5 WAR CF, you take your wins any way that you can. Gomez is probably at worst a 2-3 win improvement over our next best option at CF. Saunders gets injured a lot, we have to face that, he clearly wasn't 100% in his time with the big league club. A wise man once said: "a win is a win is a win".
  9. Keys to the game: 1. Hector Noesi is really f***ing bad. 2. Holy s***, we need to crush Hector Noesi. 3. Jose Abreu is good. 4. Don't throw Jose Abreu pitches in the middle of the strikezone. 5. The White Sox hitters have been f***ing awful. 6. Avoid getting into a situation where David Robertson has to come into the game to pitch. He will rape us.
  10. Hopefully he's fully healed. Very good news. Now we only need Travis back and Joey Bats to start playing the OF again.
  11. You get that our OF currently consists of Kevin Pillar, Chris Colabello, Ezequiel Carrera and the occasional Danny Valencia start, right? If another team offered you all of those guys for Drew Hutchison alone, would you do it?
  12. Just Pompey and Castro for Gomez +? I don't see the Brewers considering that at all.
  13. Since our May 5th trade, Bogaerts has hit to a 128 wRC+ with few walks and strikeouts. Vogt has been getting screwed by BABIP, Richards is still pretty good, and Brad Miller can hit. Solid trade for both sides thus far.
  14. ERA, results, wins, FIP One of these things is not like the other
  15. Rangers playing some sketchy defense.
  16. Throws and bats lefty, but writes with his right hand, interesting.
  17. No disrespect to Bernie Williams, he had a really great prime, but he was/is kind of overrated.
  18. Dude, there are so many good teams out there. What are you doing to yourself? What's next, the Padres?
  19. Dat Earned Run Average.
  20. Ryan Goins wishes he would've hit that well in the minors lol.
  21. I was about to post something along those lines. Thanks for taking out the trash bud.
  22. Um, if I was choosing another team to follow, the Seattle Mariners are certainly not the one that I would jump on the bandwagon for.
  23. When people look only at batting average is when they say that Jose Bautista is "off to a slow start", despite a 127 wRC+, a ridiculous 18.8% walk rate to 19.4% K rate, while posting an ISO at around career numbers, all of this with a lowly .223 BABIP on a bum shoulder.
  24. Popcorn gifs incoming.
  25. Look at his ISO, unless he's Juan Pierre he needs pop.
