    Correct me if wrong... thought the deadline (July 15th) has passed. Is the list on the first page officially final? Just remembering Rd17 pick Russell was rumored to sign from the day he was drafted.... This deadline seems awfully quiet.

    actually I find his swing to be very good. I saw a very quick swing with slight upper cut( possibly due to that particular at bat), but I feel more sold on him than ever after that. Thoroughly impressed.

    I hope I am really wrong here but I am not enamored with Alford at all. The only thing that jumps out of his hitting stats is his strikeout ratio and that has me gravely concerned.

    considering the eventual package they got from Astros Jays could definitely beat that very comfortably without involving any of the top tier prospects (ie. Tellez+SRF). Just felt considering Beane and AA's history, why AA didn't pounce on that...

    I feel like any team before Astro at 37 should just take Daz. I mean, he isn't the kind of guy to go to college especially considering his bloodline. I doubt he will say no to 2 million dollars and decide to play college and turn out only to earn less on the next eligible draft.

    Reyes provides WAR's. Yes, he may not be the most efficient WAR player per millions paid, but do you believe in AA and management to obtain more WAR value out of replacement using cap space relieved through getting rid of Reyes and his contract or just move him to a different position that actually diminishes his positional advantage at SS? I surely don't.

    remembering when AF rejected a move to Houston Astros after their ownship change and ppl were saying how he could only succeed as a GM of a money strapped team, now he is going to the currently most rich team in the game.
