    Not really. 4 or so years of Trout then he's far and away out of their budget vs x amount of years from all of them.

    I don't see why it wouldn't. A backup catcher, a mediocre and overpayed second baseman, and two years of a good pitcher. 1 year of Rasmus and a Cecil should be plenty.

    Also, I hate these rumors for pitching. AA should have complete focus on finding a decent catcher. Anything else he does is a bonus. ----------------------- And just throwing another trade out there, because why not? How about Sanchez, Stroman and Gose for Castillo and Samzajizaajiza? Gordonboogie shot down my Castillo/Sanchez proposal previously, but meh....this seems pretty fair.

    I read the board a lot when Jay games were on, just didn't post. Since I was already here I figured it would be funny to mess with the "thanking" system. Chose Wilner because his avatar stood out. And yeah I've probably been here a little too often the last couple days, but meh...

    There is no completion. Bourjos is much better than Jay. Jay probably gets traded. Phenomenal trade by the Cards.

    Fernandez is absolutely the better pitcher right now; that goes without saying. But it's still just one year and long term they should be very close.

    I think it's pretty subjective. Fernandez is younger but talent wise it's a toss up. Most would take Fernandez(for good reason) but I've been a Shelby fanboy since he was drafted.

    Cardinal message boards are full of hardcore casual fans that still use ERA and wins to evaluate a player. Kelly for me is meh; he has really good stuff but he doesn't have the control or stamina to stay in the rotation long term. I see him as a dominate late inning guy. Lynn's only problem is stamina; if he gets that settled I can see him becoming a legit 2 in any rotation. Miller has the talent to become one of, if not the best pitcher in baseball. Plus he's significantly younger than Kelly and Lynn. I would take Miller over just about every rookie/sophomore/prospect in baseball, and definately taking him over the combination of Lynn/Kelly. Also I find it crazy that you think this package is overpaying, but the other one isn't.
