    People who think the HR Derby has no impact on a hitter don't really understand baseball; consistency, timing, and approach are fundamental... something like a HR Derby can disrupt those things just enough to impact the rest of a players season.

    Also Doumit is WAAAAAAY f***ing better than JPA... In every aspect of the game except hitting dingers. Plus he's not even an everyday catcher... wtf

    Rasmus has ONE really good month and three OK months. He's not an elite hitter yet lolz. Also he moved up in the box sometime in the middle of last year and he was absolutely awful after.

    Gose may actually provide more value than Melky Cabrera right now... even if he's batting .200. But Pillar is clearly the better option.

    Yeah, you're right of course. It just seems like the mental side of his game has all-but completely checked out; especially considering some of the reports I heard of him not trying at times.
