  1. The reports on Lazarito are pretty impressive but the argument of whether to go all in on one international prospect or a bunch of smaller ones is fair. Since the Jays are already sitting out next year the real question is one big fish better than a bunch of smaller ones in 2017? Considering it's fair to assume that the Jays could be netting some comp picks down the road I'd prefer to see them go all in....what's the price tag on Lazarito anyways? Haven't read lot on his projected contract
  2. This was my understanding so thanks for clarifying. Sucks to sit out two years in a row but if Lazarito is as good as he's made out to be he could be worth it. Also if Jays lose Bautista and EE to free agency that would give the Jays three first round picks in 2017. I've read Ben Badler labeling Vlad JR and Lazarito as high first round selections if draft eligible so if signed in a hypothetical world that could give the Jays 7 first round talents from 2015-2017. Could be a quick way to rebuild the farm without stripping down the roster (minus losing Edwin and Jose of course )
  3. No one other than the Braves are identified as being in on him although USA TODAY says 9 teams are pursuing him. Could someone more well versed in the international signing area breakdown where the Jays stand pool money wise? Would making a play on Lazarito be a shrewd move for a new management team looking to rebuild the farm?
  4. To be clear, it's a presale to buy an additional pair to the home opener. They have done this before...
  5. I'd join. I'm experienced in dynasty leagues and fantrax although I wouldn't recommend their app. I think a few guys in here could vouch for me. Give me a trash team or a good team. I'm good either way
  6. Its the season pass....not exactly season seat holders lol. I remember there definitely was a rule enforced in the past just unsure if it is still the case.
  7. Gentlemen, Sending my pops to the game tomorrow with my season pass. I know in the past there has been a rule about getting there early or else your pass' tickets become void for the game if its a sell out. Does anyone know what the rule is? I've tried contacting the box office to ask but as you can guess i havent had any luck getting through. Thanks in advance!
  8. @bluejayhotstove I remember in 2007 29yr old Akinori Iwamura signed with the Rays and was a complete unknown. Went on to be worth 5.5 WAR his 2 seasons there If I recall correctly Aoki when he signed with the Brewers had very little fanfare and he turned out to be a solid big leaguer as well. The idea of singing this guy is definitely growing on me. He HAS to be better than Izturis and Goins and he probably can't be worse than Asdrubal Cabrera or Jed Lowrie was last year either.
  9. I like that you referenced @bluejayhotstove....he doesnt have any sources of course but the guy sparks up some good dialogue on twitter i find....3 nights ago i think he mentioned Navarro to Arizona for reliever makes too much sense and 48 hours later it was all over the news. Im not against this Taritori signing or whatever his name is...people talk about Lowrie and Asdrubal like they are superstars....Lowrie was so so last year and Asdrubal hasnt had a good year since 2012. He was awful last year. I cant imagine this japanese guy being any worse
  10. Not sure about online, but the stadium Jays Shop already has both. Bought a Stroman today And I got a good one for you...Brandon League Baby Blue Friday Night retro jersey Not only the dumbest jersey purchase I've ever made but perhaps the stupidest decision I've ever made in my life.....
  11. If the Greek wasnt smart enough to upgrade his rotation then i highly doubt he does something like this although it really would be a total waste not to capitalize on the advantage he has on the market with the two protected first rounders...f***ing idiot
  12. Got the feeling Stroman could be a top rookie with the Jays this season and Hutch could very well out pitch Mark Buerhle...the depth is 100% there. Obviously having that stud at the top of the rotation and bumping everyone down a spot would be ideal...Ubaldo was not that guy though
  13. I really dislike that greek f*** right now And on the point earlier where someone said its all Beeston...i disagree I get the sense its all AA..guy is obsessed with this perception of value f***ing hate him
  14. I agree lol Im not arguing any of this...im just trying to come up with reasons why they wouldnt have filled these holes
  15. Ohhh i know...it could all go so terribly wrong and naturally as a Jays fan i anticipate that it will. Im just grasping straws here guys to try and understand why the f*** he didnt sign Ubaldo?!?!?!?
  16. Im just saying what they said lol!
  17. All im saying is perhaps it does (big emphasis on PERHAPS) make sense to pass on Ubaldo and Santana and see if a guy like Stroman could right away jump into a major league rotation and contribute like you see sooo many other young pitchers do across baseball...Wacha, Fernandez, Cingrani, Archer to name a few from last year alone
  18. By reassess im only referring to their rotation needs Still maintain the belief that the offense and bullpen can be top 10 units in all of baseball
  19. Beeston and AA referred to the next 5 years starting in 2013 as their championship window...im using their words here
  20. Im pissed off...Completely shocked with tonight's news. I always believed Ubaldo was the one guy we would for sure get in the end. Stunned it didnt happen. If i saw AA on the street right now I'd honestly smack him upside the head. Im trying to figure out what in the f***ing world prevented him from signing this guy...
  21. They clearly expected to be better...Everyone in baseball expected the 2013 team to be much better. They took a chance and it hasnt paid off yet. Time to reassess your options and see what you got.
  22. Im trying to say that the kids getting the opportunity to pitch this season will reveal if they are good enough to pitch in a competitive rotation or if we need to go out in 2015 and spend some serious cash on pitching.
  23. Having Doc around these kids will be huge for their progression. I always though Doc would be the perfect mentor for a guy like Drabek...help him focus and filter out the noise. I HATE being the guy who tries to spin a positive when clearly everyone has every right to be pissed off, but i just have a good feeling with some of these guys. Even McGowan entices me...I saw old McGowan last year at times. Simply unhittable..if that weighted balls program is all its made out to be then perhaps his arm can hold up as a starter.
