NFL newb. He a good player? Is it like Stroman calling it quits?
  2. When I saw Cueto I expected it to be related to the Jays, with some absurd deal like Cueto for Sanchez, Norris, & Hoffman
  3. -He had 2-3 good milb seasons for us. ERA looks nasty but you know that's not the best identifier. His peripherals looked good in a hitters league -You want to keep throwing away MLB innings to shitballers? And we brought him up when was 24, so there wasn't a lot of time to wait around. And his stuff certainly isn't good enough to wait for him.
  4. Some guys have good enough stuff for the minors. But against MLB pitching they don't have the appropriate stuff or breadth of repertoire to succeed. Hendriks seems to be a guy like this. This is where scouting trumps sabermetrics. If you want an example of someone recent, take a look at Brad Mills. The guy led the PCL in K's in his last year with us and had solid BB/K and K/9 ratios. But you knew from watching him that his assortment of pitches weren't going to make a difference in the bigs.
  5. He sneezed, which pulled his oblique. I'ts a common injury. You can also hurt your back too http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/14967200/oblique-injury-is-in-so-beware-of-the-sneeze
  6. lol @ braves radio call
  7. MAybe but you also have two lefties straight there. Not sure if the Dickey effect > two lefties in a row
  8. if you're bored and want to laugh at this team:
  9. I think it's fairly obvious now tercet has a lot of money on the table for Sanchez to fail this year lol. why you hate him so much ;/
  10. Well the metrics don't look good for Estrada. Declining K rate, rising BB rate. His first two years in Milwaukee were good, true, but I'm not comfortable seeing the trend. Besides, a guy as homer-prone as Estrada will be disastrous in this division, especially with all these on base machines that we will have to face. At least Sanchez has a worm killer that will limit extra bases and produce more opportunities for a DP.
  11. E5 should not see the field ever. I don't want him to get injured when Donaldson air mails one into the runner's lane.
  12. The Pillar vs Pompey competition this spring has been great The Barton vs Smoak? not so much
  13. I think he is. Sanchez has enough movement on his fastball to be a passable 5th starter. Estrada, despite a better arsenal, is a BP machine. I'm not a fan of his ability to give up the homer. Estrada = Hendriks to me. If anything, Estrada is just as much a WIP as Sanchez. He needs to figure out how to keep the homers down.
  14. Devon Travis on the audio stream in a few minutes.
  15. we should sign Marcum to be an instructor for Sanchezy
  16. He does, except that Sanchez lacks command by a few ticks. I think we should stick with Sanchez though. He's still young to learn and master a secondary pitch. He should learn Hutch's slider.
  17. it seems Sanchez can't finish off any hitters. When he's ahead he events out the count..
  18. god damnit Sanchez. You're not Maddux.
  19. I'll admit guys, I wanted to sign Ubaldo last off season..
  20. Hendriks is actually a good interview. Very knowledgeable about the game and the league. They'll have Devon Travis on later.
  21. f*** the orioles
  22. Bautista hit on wrist he's done
  23. funny enough, Wilner was raving on Sanchez there
