  1. They made a small tweak to his leg kick (almost removing it completely afaik) so I guess his new approach is working. I don't think he's THIS good, though.
  2. From fangraphs a few days ago: "Selected by Detroit in the 13th round out of Florida State in 2012 — and the recipient of a nearly slot appropriate $200 thousand bonus — Travis dramatically outplayed his pedigree in the minors, largely on the strength of his contact and (it would seem) batted-ball skills. Those two qualities, in conjunction with his ability to play second base, conspired to earn for him a basically league-average projection before the season. Over his first 49 plate appearances, Travis has essentially retained his strikeout rates and batted-ball figures from the minor leagues while also exhibiting power. The projections and reason dictate that the latter two of those three variables are candidates for substantial regression. The collection of skills, however, still points to a league-average rookie season. A substantial accomplishment, that." http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/easily-digested-commentary-on-some-notable-debuts/ I've paid close attention to Travis a lot and I don't recall him having too much trouble on any pitches in any zone. Unfortunately the heatmap does not seem available for him on fangraphs.
  3. Edwin parrot shirt back on sale http://teespring.com/WalkTheParrot
  4. former Boston Red Sox 'star' arrested for kidnapping http://www.draysbay.com/2015/4/23/8482299/julio-lugo-charged-with-kidnapping-gun-posession?utm_campaign=d_russ&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter I remember when I wanted to sign him.
  5. I haven't seen anyone take the side of the Orioles. Even Brandon McCarthy likes what Bautista did! And he's a pitcher!
  6. Joe Nathan, torn UCL and tendon. Season ending, and probably his career is done. One of the more underrated closers for a period.
  7. Just read that after Tuesday's game, Rick Dempsey said that the Jays have not done anything to warrant all their showboating.
  8. You guys think Paredes f***ed up today? Watch what Torii Hunter did http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2015/04/23/mlbtv_minkca_84547283_1200K.mp4
  9. Yeah this is a win I put in my "shouldn't have won that game" column
  10. Sanchez's reply: http://i.imgur.com/uHl1wOm.jpg
  11. Estrada's velocity is worse and he's the worst flyball pitcher in the bigs last year!
  12. woooop huuuuge derp by me. This whole time I thought Shipley was the real father and Sanchez was the pitcher. Shipley he is, no longer! Doesn't change the fact that he's terribad, tho.
  13. Shipley is his real name. I don't have time for imposters.
  14. If you told me Shipley walked 7, and Ubaldo only gave up 4 runs, I would've said we lost the game.
  15. ever since the season started Castro has lost his ability to strike out and have control
  16. Kiley McDaniel ‏@kileymcd 17s18 seconds ago D'Backs Double-A righty Braden Shipley working 91-95 & hit 96 tonight. CB flashed plus, obvious ath, doesn't have feel for the CH right now. I found Shipley's brother
  17. wow that first pitch. I was expecting him to bean Pearce after that
  18. Cecil is now a lefty specialist? ;/ He won't be happy.
